Stress free method!
I have a 10 year old Jack Russell Terrier that always puts up a fight when it’s time to trim her claws. I was worried at first that the grinding sound would scare her. But I went ahead and decided to purchase the grinder anyway.I turned on the device to get her accustomed to the sound and gave her a treat when she smelt or licked it. She was a bit uneasy at first and so I had her lay down. When I slowly tapped her claw onto the grinder, she pulled back and smelled the grinder. Then I quickly gave her a treat and comforted her. I repeated the same step, and she eventually just laid there like she was at the spa LOL. Checked on my progress from time to time, then put her head back down.I am so glad I purchased this! This process does take longer for thicker claws. I wish it had a little bit more power to get the job done quicker. Though, more power means it’ll be louder. But at least there is no more stress for both of us. My advice is to take your time, don’t rush and it’ll eventually get easier.Pros:Easy to usePainless (even with pressure)2 speedsQuietGreat for active & anxious dogsCons:Slower process than clipping

Much better than clipping for anxious dog!
Our dog HATES getting his nails clipped so we decided to try this. He still doesn’t enjoy the process but he is more comfortable with this. It makes his nails much smoother and less likely to hit the quick. We only use this now to trim his nails and makes the process easier for everyone. I rated it 4 stars due to it being a little loud so our dog knows what’s about to happen and it getting really hot after one or two paws. So we have to take a break to let it cool off so we don’t hurt ourselves or our dog. But let’s be honest, but that point our dog is ready to be done for a while haha!

-Also great for vets and zoos for exotics and as a human's manicure tool!
Just received it recently and tried it out on my dog. THOUGH IT MAKES VERY LITTLE NOISE AND ALMOST NO VIBRATION my dog will not sit still so I cannot trim his nails alone with the electric grinder as he gets distracted and wants to walk away. He is a very ‘peppy’ type of dog. I am not concerned about this since my spouse can help me out on the weekends and both of us will trim our dog’s nails together with the device while one of us holds him and pets him. Before we do this I decided to orient my dog to the new device, an upgrade, he used to have his nails clipped which is much more jarring. I get very nervous worrying about the quick of the nail as a nervous dog could move from the VERY large vibration of using the clippers but will not jump from the grinder. I feel much safer and confident with the grinder. To orient my dog to the aspects of this device I sat in front of him and used the nail trimming device to trim and shape my own fingernails showing him both the ease and rapidity and painlessness of this nail filing method. He seemed to observe and pay attention. To my surprise and delight upon using it I LIKED IT SO VERY MUCH I am going to use the additional grinder it has for manicuring my nails. I already use a nail grinder set myself with buffer, etc., and do my own manicures and pedicures, but the grinder I use to shape my conical fingernails is a bit slow for that but great for cleaning underneath the nails after gardening and shaving off any bit of delicate loose skin. This ‘pet’ nail grinder does conical nail shaping very fast on humans though it can not get under the nails-it is not a do it all for human manicures but still a great adjunct. I found out it is very fast and will reduce my manicure time by at least a third. I am also certain my dog will feel it is superior to the old method of nail trimming for his nails in every aspect. It obviously can easily manicure a dog or cat or even an exotic zoological animal like a sloth’s nails. It is a sturdy quiet unit which is also important and of note.

Worked great for 3 years
The item no longer charges. Something must have come loose inside. But, it's useless to anyone at this point.

I dont know why i waited so long so buy this!
This product is incredible! Its not loud at all and it makes the horrible and stressful job of nail trimming so much better.I have a 12 year old Lab Chow mix that hates nail clippers. Hates them. She will whine and pull away and gently bite my hand in a way that breaks my heart everytime. Its like she begging me to stop. Her nails are long and thick and it bothers me when i see how ive neglected her nails for so long. I have another Lab mix that hates it too but she will let me clip them with enough effort and sweet talking but not my oldest. She knows how to pull at my heart strings! It just wasnt happening with her. So i bought this as a last ditch effort and it has changed everything! My method is to have a little jar of cut up treats on hand as a reward and start the sweet talking early. Then i get her to lay down on her stomach as i position myself on her side with an arm around her neck and kinda leaning on her (gently of course but enough so she knows she cant escape). Then i start the grinder, grab a paw and start grinding away. Keep in mind it takes awhile to grind down each nail and after awhile my back gets stiff from the awkward position but she tolerates it so much better than the quick snips of the clippers. I did 2 nails every other day and always reward her with little treats and a car ride with me to run errands. I think a big advantage is the fact that shes 12 years old and i know her hearing isnt great anymore so the little sound the device makes doesnt sppok her (but it really is quiet). The whimpering and whining still happens but eventually she stops and she just waits for it to be over. Just keep telling yourself it doesnt hurt the dog...they just dont like it. I use it on my nails to show them its okay before i start and i think it helps. I love the product and if i could give it 10 stars i would! If you have to struggle with your dog like i did for years using clippers, just try it. Its so worth the $25!
