Having cleared the ACP, I just dropped an email of thanks to RMCProject and Mike Griffith for the PMI-ACP Exam Prep. I believe this is the PMBOK equivalent for agile even if PMI does not recognize it as one (why don't they? I wonder).I highly encourage you to review the ACP Exam Content outline on the PMI website. The exam is 3 hours with 120 multiple choice questions. You cannot bluff through them, you must prepare and educate yourself. I have solid scrum experience and yet the exam preparation, specially helped by this book, has added a world of wisdom about agile. Just go through the Contents of the books, it is tailored exactly as you are tested on the exam.After spending a month with this book, looking up all the new concepts and techniques I've learnt on becoming a better scrum master and project manager, all I can say is hats off Mike Griffith/team. In a matter of weeks, I was familiar with what the exam would test me on. The language is simply beautiful, at times humorous, and deeply engaging. Its as if you are sharing project management with a friend over a cup of coffee and not preparing for a stressful exam.In a month, after detailed study of this book and referencing the various concepts in it with articles on the internet, I felt ready. So I enrolled in a three day prep class which helped me discuss the concepts further.The book offers the whole world of agile in a very compact valuable package. It is expensive however it is completely worth the investment if you are a) serious about taking your ACP exam, and, b) learning more about the world of agile and insightful project management practices.My only dissappointment was that this book offered only limited number of multiple choice questions at the end of each chapter (126 in total in the book) and didnt offer additional mock tests either in the book or online as part of the package. If you do not end up enrolling in a prep class, I would recommend purchasing a mock prep test online (Version One offers it).Goodluck!

This is must read book for you who want to take PMI-ACP exam. This book very well organize and the word that use is very easy to understand. I use this book while i'm prepare for PMI-ACP exam and thanks GOD I pass it on my first try. I using this book along with simulation software that produce by RMC. Most of the question on the exam is trickier , and you need this book to make you feel confident to know each domain before you take you exam. The writer approach will help you get a long with all the concept. This is a book that must buy and read for PMI-ACP exam taker.

Good framework but perhaps we can have more actual examples of the application type of questions such as what will scrum master do when the team was going into argument during the daily stand-up meeting?

I bought this book to prepare for the PMI-ACP exam and did indeed pass. Even if I had not taken or passed the exam the investment has been worth it. I use it continually as a reference. From other readings on Agile I can conclude that the author has done a nice job of summing things up; e.g. contracts & estimating to mention a few. I also found some of the graphics regarding things such as tracking value to be very helpful.Prior to reading the book I had acquired the Certified Scrum Master certification as well. I found this book to be an excellent compliment.

The Rita Mulcahy series has not disappointed yet. I used her books when I studied for the PMP. Not only do you figure out what you need to in order to pass the test, you learn quite a bit. Mike Griffith's book was very similar to Rita's older PMP material in that it was very useful and applicable to every-day work. I really enjoyed reading this book. Nice sized font and good mixture of images / graphics as well. Highly recommend.Paul, PMI-ACP, PMP :)

This is my 2nd RMC tutorial (first was for the PMP) and this one continues in the same lineage:- easy, almost pleasant, to read- very complete in terms of information and illustrations- useful even long after you pass the testThe book focused on agile methods in general while the PMI-ACP test focused more on XP and Leanprinciples than I expected but overall, I was well prepared and passed without difficulties.Would definitely recommend this book

The front cover says 'for exam after February', however the book shipped to me was 'for exam after January'. The book I received was $8 cheaper in other online stores. I still bought this one thinking this might have some thing new. What I received looks same as the book in other store but with a higher pricing. Unfortunately Amazon doesn't have a online system to raise issue other than calling the customer service which I didn't. Very disappointing.

Bought this book as a reference and summary of the underlying 11 books for the PMI-ACP exam. I liked it because it is comprehensive and great prep book. I envy the people who can use it instead of reading 3000+ pages that I had to endure when I was preparing last year. In addition I can also confirm it serves my purpose as a well-structured Agile overview for project managers.

Das Buch hat mich gut und bequem durch die Zertifizierung gebracht. Keine spezifischen ACP-Schulungen (die eher selten stattfinden) nötig. Nur als Tip: am besten im Rahmen der Vorbereitungen zu ACP den Scrum Master (Scrum.Org) mitmachen. Ist im Vergleich zur ACP-Zertifizierung sehr einfach, und man erhält ein weiteres - vielleicht einmal nützliches - Zertifikat. Mit dem ACP-Wissen alleine lässt sich diese Zertifizierung dann allerdings nicht bestehen, da sie in eine etwas andere Richtung geht. Bei mir war sie ein Nebenprodukt der Kurse, die ich als Zulassungs-Voraussetzung für die ACP-Zertifizierung durchlaufen musste. Die Zertifizierung zum Scrum Master (zumindest ein einzelner Versuch) war gratis mit bei einem der beiden Kurse, die ich besucht habe.

Consiglio caldamente di acquistare la SECOND EDITION, uscita nel 2015, visto che si allinea meglio con il nuovo esame.

I'm glad to have bought this book. It helped me study for the exam, but just as important I think it's great to have as a reference book since the author did a great job summarizing major Agile concepts from various sources. I'm glad to have it on my bookshelf. As a comparison I found another PMI-ACP exam prep book that I got from the library... although I got it to practice some of the mock exam questions the library book is no match to the quality, depth, and the presentation of this book by Mike.

Funny book. I recomend it, better than a weekend in Acapulco. The transport was perfect, one, two, three, four...words more.

I bought this book after working for a few years with Scrum and Kanban. The book is fantastic for those wanting an overview of agile project management. The book is well written, and covers the important parts of planning, estimating, executing, and delivering projects, and improving agile project management practices. If you're on an agile team, this book is excellent.I haven't taken the exam yet, but I know that I will have no problems passing it if I study the material and can answer the chapter review questions. You might also want to look at RMCs online prep, although I am using a different company. I recommend this book for all future ACPs. Good luck in your study and the exam!
