Quality stuff!
First off, I will address some concerns I've seen in reviews prior to my own purchasing of this product. I saw quite a few people complaining about a burning plastic smell. I didn't notice it at first because I was constantly using big chunks, as I typically tend to burn this incense outside, so that it will repel bugs. And yes, it works fast. I never have flies biting me or mosquitoes when I have this burning. It does have a very strong citronella-like odor to it, so you can expect this fragrance to be on the citrus-side. Generally, frankincense is burned with something else, such as myrrh. I noticed, though, I only got bad plastic odor if I did one of three things. One was I burned too many small pieces at one time... The smaller pieces melt really fast and so it produces a lot of smoke and the coal can't handle the quick rush of oil. The smoke WILL choke you out of your home and set off fire alarms if you arent cautious. The other times seemed to be if I used a whole coal. I usually break my round charcoals into quarters because a burner doesn't require a lot of heat. Really hot coals tend to do the same thing - melt the resin to oil too fast. Test it out until you find your desired effect. Start small. People seemed to gripe a little about quality... I dont know... I havent even finished my bag and I will be getting another tomorrow (as in, it is already ordered and will BE here tomorrow)! LoL. The third thing, again, has to do with heat. I noticed that early on, if I burned on top of the quarter coal inside my abalone shell on top of sand, in the beginning it smelled great... However, if I end up lighting another coal, and then another... I noticed that I started getting that gross odor and excessive smoke again. Pretty sure it has something to do with the sand getting too hot and ruining the effect oil. I can imagine this can happen much faster in a tiny incense burner.Chunks were great variety of sizes... as I would expect. Hardly any powder at all! Tears were also clean of bark. I am impressed.Yes, I see no reason this cannot be chewed. Some parts are more dried and hard like candy, though, so I can't say the whole bag is gum-like.... but you can definately crush some and find gummy ones.If you use this just to deoderize your house, it will last a REALLY long time.

Excellent quality and great value
I was surprised I could get frankincense of this quality for this price. There are some small pieces in the bag but a lot of them are quite large, some being even longer than 1 inch. I wanted to include a picture of the variety of pieces I found, some are crystal clear and the light shines through them beautifully, others are a bit dark, but all of the pieces I've burned have a wonderful smell, I'm still new to burning resin incense but I think this frankincense smells lovely, it has a piney, citrusy, and woody smell. Will buy again when I run out.

Not just an incense
I use these crystals to repell flying insects. Use with the charcoal made to use with it…the round ones work well (quick start) be careful to use tongs as recommended. Place a few crystals in the bowl of the charcoal and watch it start to work. I use it for mosquito problems. Central Florida .I should note that there seems to be 1 or 2 species that end to ignore but it’s not as bad.I read where ancients would use frankincense crystals to repell insects and decided to try it.It does stink a bit, but works.

Doesn't smell like frankincense
It isn't entirely *unpleasant*, but this isn't what frankincense, in my limited experience, smells like. Has a very distinctly "piney" scent, a strong pine-like or wood-like smell to it.

Mediocre Frankincense For A Relatively Low Price
I tried this out because getting good Frankincense these days for a reasonable price is becoming more difficult because the trees are dying off due to a number of reasons. Those reasons are, but perhaps are not limited to the following: Overharvesting is putting pressure on the old trees and not enough new trees are growing, longhorn beetle infestations (made worse because old trees are being overtapped in an attempt to produce more), overpopulation and land use problems which have led to the overexploitation of the land where these trees have been traditionally grown for centuries (particularly in the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula), slash-and-burn farming techniques, cattle eating the new plants that are trying to grow, the growing focus on the oil production industry over traditional methods of farming, possibly global climate change to some degree, and the difficulty in germinating these particular plants from seed and getting them to grow as it is anyway. So, I bought this 1 Pound bag of Frankincense Resin, which is now being described as Somalia Frankincense (though the word Somalia wasn't listed in the Amazon title or description when I bought it, and I had no idea where it came from until today - it now says Somalia Frankincense Resin in the title). The link in my Amazon Orders leads to this page now though, and it's the same item from the same seller. Well, it arrived quickly and it's definitely 1 Pound. No problem as far as that goes. The scent isn't the best Frankincense though, and it's kind of thick and smokey like cigarettes and it lingers. The scent is a bit gravelly and peppery and not as citrus-like as a sweet Frankincense olibanum resin would normally be. Nevertheless, it is Frankincense, a different type than what I'm used to generally, but it is a type of funky thick Frankincense, though it kinda smells like how I would imagine a mixture of Frankincense and tobacco cigarettes to smell like. I say it is only OK if you can't find any other good Frankincense resin out there for a reasonable price (and unfortunately it is becoming more difficult to find good Frankincense resin for a reasonable price these days). So, if you don't feel a real need to get a good bit of Frankincense resin for a good price, then get some Sandalwood or Nag Champa or Kewda or some other type of incense that smells more pleasant instead.
