For decades all of his friends have only heard short anecdotes of his exotic exploits which included big climbs and other outdoor adventures. Most of the accompanying text is drawn from contemporaneous diaries, so the author brings you along on all of his many adventures. What fun!Update: Our dear friend Jonathan died as a result of pulmonary issues August 23, 2018. He was 88. Few have experienced up close and personally as he - THE URGE TO KNOW.This book will not be republished most likely and will remain out of print. Do not read the stories or scan the photographs in "The Urge to know" before bedtime. You may not fall asleep as quickly as you normally do. Each adventure Jonathan relates in his words and in his awesome photographs demonstrates severe trial and risk that are prerequisites for reaching each summit he reaches . The photographs are absolutely captivating as they capture the massage that Jonathan Calvert has spent a lifetime showing the world. "Do not be afraid to risk because if you do not risk you can never achieve the success that awaits you". We are all so fortunate that Jonathan has shared his personal world with us.
