Best locking QD mount you’re going to find for the money.
Of the many mounts I have used over the years, this one is among some of the better ones.I needed another QD mount for a project, I did my research for a couple days before pulling the trigger on this one. I read all the reviews on this mount carefully, and I have to say that after receiving the mount and putting it together, I think some of the negative reviews were from people who didn’t fully understand how to adjust it or install properly. This is one of the most solid QD mounts you’re going to find for the money. It is different in that the rings install vertically, and both halves of the rings are removable, but this is not an issue. You will need to use a thread locking compound on the screws, just as you would any scope. You will need to partially tighten the rings around the scope with the rifle on its side. Then bench the rifle, position the scope, and finally tighten the rings the rest of the way.As far as the QD base, it takes a minute to get the adjustment just right, and there is a particular way you have to adjust the locking base. The lever has to be pushed in while open, the tab holding the post on the opposite side also has to be pushed in, allowing the adjustment screw to be turned. I had no problem adjusting the base to a tight hold that locks securely into place. These same features are used in some really expensive mounts, I was really happy with this mount, and when I need another QD mount in the future I will use this one.

Design allows for movement of the rings.
I purchased this product thinking it looked very solid. Upon receiving the product, and seeing it in person i changed my mind. Both sides of the rings are loose from the base, and need to be attached with 2 bolts that run thru the one ring, the base, and thread into the other ring. The hole in the base, and the fit of the rings onto the base do not lock the rings into place. Meaning that once you tighten the bolts, the rings can still move with respect to the base. It is my opinion that one side of the rings needs to be permanently attached to the base/be part of the base to be a solid product.

Nice mount.
I've been working with scopes lately. I had a couple of scopes mounted with the 2 piece rings, and for some reason couldn't get them to zero either with a boresight, or on the range at 50 yards. Shifted to one piece scope mounts, and everything started falling in line.Bought this for a scope that had a little larger than normal focus/parallax mid-section. The scope wouldn't fit on a Burris P.E.P.R. mount, and found this one piece mount. The QD's lock in place, so it's not going to come loose during shooting. The tightening screws, if you need to adjust the QD tension, are notched and you have to depress a pin to adjust. They're not going to accidentally unscrew themselves. It came without having to make any adjustments right out of the box.The mounting rings are cut and fitted in such a way that they have to go on in a very specific way. If you accidentally put them on the wrong way, the screws won't fit, so you have to check the cut of the rings. The inch scope tube inserts fit well inside the rings, and don't fall out.The only thing I personally am not a fan of is that the mounting ring screws are on the side, not like every other conventional scope mount. Mounting rings screws on top would have allowed me to mount the base, mount the scope, and then put the rings together. This setup you have to hold the base in one hand, place the scope in the base, and attached the rings with the other hand. Working one handed with the inserts for an inch scope, the rings, screws, and an allen wrench isn't the easiest, but it can be done.I used this to mount a Barska 4-16x42 scope on an L1A1. It's secure, and doesn't move. Boresighting it was easy. It held return to zero very well. I removed the mount a couple of times, and checked the zero with a boresight. It was in the exact same location.Overall I'm pleased with the mount. The scope may need to be upgraded, but the mount can stay for now.

just what I was looking for
This allows me to change scopes without having to re sight . I recently acquired a new CVA Accura muzzleloader ,which is actually 2 guns in 1 . with the black breechplug I can shoot 100 grains of pelletized powder , good for 150 yds ,max for my local hunting . By changing to the second breechplug & firingpin I change to 150 grains of 209 powder & and be lethal out to350 + yds , the scope that is just right for1 is marginal for the other. There are QR rings that cost $$$ that return to zero ,BUT, just like scope bases 1 piece is better than 2 .This is the best made/innovative solution to make any 1 gun into 2. 60 yrs hunting !!!

Junk
Upon mounting it to my gun I noticed it had a lot of play and seemed loose and after a closer look I noticed an already stripped out screw that couldn't be tightened as the threads were stripped out as well. This is the condition it came, as an oversized paperweight, right out of the box.

mounted scope (on 300 WinMag) and holds zero perfect after 200 rounds
Mounted, adjusted QD cantilever tension (easily), lapped with Wheeler bar, cerakoted, mounted scope (on 300 WinMag) and holds zero perfect after 200 rounds. Everyone thinks it's an American Defense. Machining and overall quality seems spot on with the higher end mounts I have.

If I could give this a zero star rating, I would.
Do not buy this product!!!!! I can’t say that with enough emphasis. It is absolute garbage. Not even fit for an airsoft gun. I tried to use this to mount a Vortex Crossfire II onto my Savage model 42, as I was looking for a decent quick release mount that wouldn’t break the bank. This product is laughably bad. The quick release mounts are supposed to be adjustable, so you can tighten the tension to securely fastened your scope. Right out of the box, when “fastened” and “locked in” the mount SLID BACK AND FORTH ON MY PICATINNY RAIL. I thought ok, let me just adjust the tension. No problem. Annoying, but I can deal with it. So I got out my tools and quickly found that no… you can’t adjust the tension. Because as soon as you adjust it to the point where it mounts securely to your rail, the QD Auto Lock paddles will no longer lock into place. It’s dispicable that a company would even market this as a firearm accessory. It’s flimsy to the point that it’s potentially dangerous. DO NOT BUY!!!
