Works great for making the groove in Trex composite decking... or other things
I'm resurfacing my deck with Trex Transcend. Some of the boards are the square edge variety so they have a clean look on one side, but on the other side I need/want the groove for the spacer. In another case, I needed to rip two adjacent boards so as to fit in the available space. There too I needed/wanted to put the groove so that I could use spacers.I read other reviews about this product and concluded that this was better than the Trex branded router bit.The first time I used it, I thought something was wrong because I didn't feel any drag as I was making the cut. I assumed I had completely missed the board and was getting ready to reset the depth. Then I saw that I had a nice clean groove in my board. You do have to experiment a bit when setting the depth. Initially I assumed that I would want the groove in the middle of the board, equidistant from both edges. It turns out, this groove is a little slimmer than the groove on the grooved boards, so you should test fit a scrap before cutting a grove on your installed piece.I would agree with other reviews that claim this bit is better than the Trex bit. Also, this bit is very sharp and seems to be very durable. It has certainly been easy to put a nice clean groove in my decking.

Great for Composite Wood Decking Slots
I used this on my smaller, lightweight 1/4" router (Dewalt) to slot grooves into the inside edges and end edges of composite boards (Trex). I used it on a few of the end edges of already factory slotted boards, where the boards changed direction and I needed to butt them together at adjacent angles, and I used it on the inside edges of solid boards for use on steps, the perimeter, etc., so there would be no slots shown on the outside edges. It worked great and ran through the composite board very quickly and cleanly.

Great after market bit!!!
This bit did a great job. Bought it to groove the backside of a lot of Trex decking material and it stayed nice & sharp for the whole project.

Use to make grove for Trex hidden fasteners
Works really well once you set the groove at the right depth. The only minor issue is it’s not really made to produce the Trex grove profile so it lacks the angular lead in. But still works fine to allow grooving the square edge treads to use the hidden fasteners. Be careful though, if it hits your skin or anything else it will tear it up!

Cuts like a dream.
This bit did a really good job of cutting a slot in the edge of a countertop for some edge molding.

Solid performer
The 1/2" shaft makes the router bit very stable and able to rout a consistent groove with minimal tear out.

Carbide tip stood up to flooring nails...
The router bit is very high quality as expected -- and in use, I encountered two unexpected flooring nails! The carbide bit didn't miss a beat, sparked as you might expect, and kept going without issue. Upon inspection, there is no damage at all -- I'm super pleased with this bit. I'll buy more router bits from Yonico.

Like cutting through butter...
Was a little skeptical at first, but the brand name bit was WAY more expensive so decided to take a chance. I was not disappointed. It cuts the material very easily with no binding or straining to cut. Not sure how long it will stay sharp, but so far it has been well worth the price.
