CAUTION! When slicing bread with a knife be careful not to place your fingers in line with the cutting action of the knife. Do not allow children to use this product. By selecting the correct width guide 5 1/2, 6 1/2 or 7 1/4 inches wide to fit your loaf width, you can cut any slice thickness you desire from 1/8 inch up to 1 inch thick by raising and lowering the guides slicing table. Notice in the pictures the saw cut lines on each side board of the guide. Loosen the four wing nuts using your fingers to adjust the bread tray and align the tray with the lines on the two sides so it is equal distance from the knife slot and hand tighten the wing nuts. You are ready to slice. Tools are not required to make the adjustment. The minimum thickness you can obtain has a lot to do with the density and softness of the bread you are cutting. This slicing guide will ship with a anti slip sheet mat that is placed under the slicing guide to stop it from sliding on your countertop while slicing. Videos are available showing the guide being used by going to “You Tube” and searching for “Mystery Lathe”. Each bread slicing guide is hand crafted by myself in Lincolnton, Georgia from solid 3/4 inch oak lumber. The guide will last a lifetime with proper care. Just clean with a damp cloth. DO NOT SOAK IN WATER. The finish used is food grade mineral oil that meets US FDA requirements for food contact surfaces, and is safe for all food preparation surfaces. All shipments are shipped via USPS Priority mail. Your order will ship the same day or the next business day from when I receive the paid order. A few words of advice: The 7 1/4 inch guide has an overall width of 8 3/4 inches and will not work with a short 10 inch bread knife. I use one that is 14 inches long. For the 6 1/2 inch (overall width is 8 inches) and 5 1/2 inch (over all width is 7 inches) guides I use a 12 inch bread knife. The bread needs to rest on your counter and cool down to room temperature. Knife not included.
