Smart kettle...where have you been all my life?
This 1.7 liter, electric kettle is so useful for quick beverages and meals. The kettle is well built and sturdy, made of stainless steel. The insulated handle (no potholders needed) is easy to grasp and extends far out from the hot kettle that even someone with large hands will not get burned. I was amazed at how fast it heats to the desired temperature for tea and soup or oatmeal rehydration. The cord can be hidden in the base and is easy to store away. It has more capacity than I need and is easy to fill. The removeable filter is a smart idea along with the auto shut off and other details that are well thought out, like the water level window. This is my first electric kettle and I wonder why it took me so long to get one. I like the fact that it cuts down on microwave and stove use.I highly recommend buying this practical, small appliance. I may even take it with me on trips to use in my hotel room.

Not completely stainless steel
Not a complete stainless steel kettle. The water gauge is not on the outside. The lid is plastic and the water strainer is plastic. If that’s fine with you then it’d a greatness product. But if you want complete stainless steel it’s not.

My fellow Americans, the units are in CUPS!
Heats up to 8 cups of water VERY quickly. Downside is there is no temperature control mechanism, so if you're just heating up one cup of tea, you have to pay attention or it'll get very hot.Every other kettle on Amazon with decent reviews had the volume measurements in liters. I use the kettle not just for tea but cooking and baking, so I really needed to the measurements to be in cups. I meticulously read the reviews and details, and could not find any information on what unit numbers on the side of this kettle were. But since was the only lead, I sucked it up and ordered it hoping for the best. I tested with my own measuring cups and indeed, the 2,4,6 & 8 are cups.

A Rather Good Kettle
If you have used electric kettles before, then this is right in the groove - it works as advertised. It heats quickly and is a bit noisy as the water groans and rumbles in the pot. You certainly know when it is boiling and ready! The hinge and button feel a little kludgy, but they work. I suspect that, if something ever breaks, it will be the hinge latch. The only drawback is that the outside layer - the skin - is not insulated, so you can accidentally touch or brush up against the pot. It is possible to get a burn, but then, it's a kettle. You probably expect it to get hot. There are other kettles out there that are insulated and cool to the touch, but they are in a different price class. So, if you are an ordinary human being and able to take reasonable precautions, this will work just fine for you.I like the water viewing level behind the handle - you don't have to turn the pot to see how much water is in it.This is a simple unit, folks, with no fancy-schmancy temp controls or additional settings. It just heats water and shuts itself off. If you want water for tea at a perfect 195 degrees, get another unit. If you want hot water quickly, efficiently - then get this.

Best kettle without plastic I was able to find so far after testing five different kettles!
OK, I usually don't do this; but here you go: I purchased over five different kettles and this one is the one I ended up keeping. Later on, I bought another one as a spare because we really liked it.I took out the lid and we use it with a small glass pot for loose black tea. There are no plastic parts other than a few small tiny silicon covers and believe me this kettle was the only one I was able to find without plastic parts. The metal is fine and inside and outside is full metal, which is very nice. The power button works fine. You cannot beat this quality with the price you are paying to this kettle. Strongly recommended.

Louder than I thought it would be
This product does what is says—heats water in a metal container. But it is significantly louder than I thought it would be. The handle stays nice and cool, but do know that the container gets very hot. And for some reason this really bothers me—the cord sticks out from the wall a great deal more than I think it should so keep that in mind if you want to have this out on your counter ready to use (like I do so I can make tea every morning). I would have returned it to get a stovetop one, but I didn’t notice it wasn’t free returns when I bought it.

Good Product
This is the most convenient thing in my kitchen. All tea drinkers need one.

Disappointed
After 2-3 months this kettle stopped turning the power button off. So you turn it on and it goes on until you will manually ( using your finger) turn it off. Im very disappointed.
