HunterDouglas Platinum Technology 2.1 18V DC Plug-in Transformer

Lacking power at the top of our Silhouette shade, we opted for a battery pack when we bought it. We rarely raise the shade but still the batteries eventually lose power and it’s a huge pain to change them, especially if the shade is down. On a recent attempt, the pack was dropped and although it didn’t break, it wouldn’t work. We looked into changing it for plug in since we can hide the cord behind the shade. The store where it was purchased said they just waited 3 weeks for an in stock motor from Hunter Douglas plus there would be an expensive service call if they installed it. I found it here, had it in days and it couldn’t be easier to plug in. I ordered a cord cover kit which I think will finish the job nicely. Very pleased!

It works great with my Levolor motorized blind. I have three that usually run on 6 double A batteries. This transformer is slightly more powerful than the battery pack as the roll up is just a little faster. The only downside is the white power cord. I may just use Lithium batteries and see how long those last. I will need two more of these transformers to complete my install as I have three blinds.

Very expensive wall plug transformer to replace the battery packs. Not worth the price but what are you going to do when you have Hunter Douglas window blinds? You may want to research an alternative acceptable transformer and purchase the correct connector on the end of it to plug into the power port. This in order to get around this Hunter Douglas price gouge of just a bit less than $100!

This is what the HD Power Blind Gods meant power blinds owners to have ... Vs lame battery packs. Plugged it in, let the D/C power pack warm up and voila!!! Just like downtown. I way faster than the battery pack.
