Saw this on Hoda & Jenna show; the cookbook was on the table with several dishes; this gave the impression that recipes for the dishes on the table were in the cookbook-they are not. Only one recipe was in the book; very disappointed.

This was an autographed copy so I was excited to see that!. This woman was a legend!!!! may she forever R.I.P. she will be loved by me and I'm sure all home cooks and the Chefs of the world for many many decades.I'm very pleased with my purchase and the book with recipes and artwork is something that I think you will enjoy as well if you liked my review please give me a like/thumbs up thank you.

Had to get cookbook. Dooky Chase makes the best gumbo and fried chicken in the United States!

I bought this right after her death. I ‘m from New Orleans and also worked in food field. I had the privilege to consume some of her dishes. It is said “the world eats to live but in New Orleans they live to eat”. Ms. Chase greatly helped sustain this.Her restaurant was nothing but a whole in the wall but one bite and you were on top of the world.N.O. Is a world renowned city for fine cuisine and she was royalty.The embodiment of the art of cooking plus a great lady.I’ll stop before I write I write a biography.......

Leah Chase is no longer with us but she left behind her heart and soul in this cookbook. Recipes past down and sharing with us.

Leah Chase’s restaurant is a part of black history in Louisiana, and the country. Having eaten there, I will always feel privileged to have been there.

I bought this before a vacation to New Orleans, because the restaurant had been recommended to me by a friend. So glad I did before she sadly passed away! She gives great family and historical stories among the real recipes. I went to the restaurant, it was amazing food, amazing history. I ate many items in the cookbook, and have been trying them out since I came home.

A worth while addition to the library if you love creole cooking, easy to follow (maybe slightly basic) but the flavours are bang on. Hardest thing I’d getting some ingredients in the Uk

There are a multitude of classic recipes in this book, and if followed, will turn out as intended. It's a must have for anyone interested in Louisiana cooking.
