My class required it
The book came in good condition. Didn’t use it for class though.

Fire the editor, or burn the books on the shelves. It's horrible.
The book is helpful in the fashion that you're required to purchase this thing for a University Class, and the professor is working way too fast over abstract concepts, and only does one example on the board. The book as a whole is just horrible.Who ever the editor was, needs to be fired. 10 editions! 10 published copies of this book. And it seems like it just can't be done right. The examples in this book appears to be erratic in organization and is even confusing on the approach. The book clearly wasn't constructed for students whom are just entering the field for differential equations as it appears to be more of a "handy-dandy" reminder if you can get past some unnecessary contributions to some solutions, or certain solutions just randomly going from start to done. What's more annoying, was that in the first chapter, section 1.3, there was no explination that could have remotely helped for some of the problems you would see for that section. Are you serious? These people could seriously learn from Pearson McGraw. They might do some BS religious edits, but at least they know how to make a good math book. Full of examples (not just the easy case), clear explinations. The problems in the book have been pretty helpful... mind you that is after going to a website that has done a good job at working through the entire problem step by step in a clear and unpolluted format. That website is slader.com for those looking for help with this thing, and are too cheap to pay for chegg (like me).I'm only on chapter 2 in my university class right now, and I'm already loathing this book.

Better than Loose Leaf Version.
This was ordered by my prof (UVa APMA 2120), but the school bookstore only has the loose leaf edition (No hard copy). While that might be cheaper, the hard copy is of a much better quality (Having a spine and cover), can withstand the abuse of my backpack, and has a better resale value. Nobody wants to buy a used loose leaf edition. Watch out though, apparently there is an extra few chapters that this textbook doesn't have that the loose leaf version does (Boundary value problems?), but my class doesn't use those. The text can be a little confusing, but then again Diff Eq is in its nature confusing. Part of me hates the fact that it will skip some algebra steps and get wordy but I've gotten used to that. I understand that you cant write all the intermediate steps the student should already know, or else it would take 3 or 4 pages for each problem. I had trouble at first but its halfway into the semester and I'm learning more form this than my prof (but only because I sleep in class)....

Buy if you need it for class
Arrived in good condition. Only bought it because It is required for class but the book itself is hard to follow and not the most helpful, so im always stuck trying to research stuff on my own.

Looks Good
Arrived in just as described condition! No marks; no torn pages. Feels good to have found this edition at such a great price and in such great condition.

Want your students to hate Math? Use this textbook!
I was required to use this textbook for my Differential Equations course in community college this semester for homework, and I have to say, this textbook is absolute garbage! When explaining a new topic, the author assumes you know everything and skips important steps. I'm not talking about small steps with basic arithmetic, but entire integration processes! Also, the author uses complicated jargon when introducing theorems and explaining proofs behind each new concept. Not reader-friendly by any stretch!Differential Equations is a very hard course that is pre-requisite to upper-division Engineering courses, and you need to understand the concepts well, and this book is AWFUL for DE. I referred to Paul's Notes for Differential Equations that were online and it was MUCH better at explaining the topics than this book. If you're required to use this for your DE course, I suggest you consult outside resources.Only positive thing about this book is that it has both odd and even solutions in the back of the book.

This Book will teach you.
Differential Equations are fun and this book is an amazing way to start.

Easy to grasp concepts
This book is relatively clear and easy to follow. The examples outlined in the notes of each section don't always explicitly explain the harder exercises. However, the basic concepts are clearly delineated.
