I have my own youtube channel and do a lot of video recording at outside sporting events at different stadiums. Often times, the sunlight depending where I'm sitting in the time of the day, makes it difficult to see my field monitor because of the glare. So I decided to order this so that I could tilt my field monitor to help me with this issue. I was a little concerned about the weight of my field monitor with the battery on it. But my concerns were quickly put to rest After I got it mounted on my camera. It is there really strong device and well built. The hinge on it has enough tension that it holds it in place at different angles and there's no need to lock it because it does it itself. The extra 2 inches this device gives me also puts my field monitor a little higher which is an added bonus since it raises my viewing area another 2 inches and I don't have to bend over as much. This device comes as advertised, and why is strong enough to support the weight and it's well worth the money. I'm very glad that I found this device. I highly recommend it 4 a lot of different applications and uses. And as you can see from my video, It really works great for my application.

I have several cold shoe ballheads, and they all share the same annoyances. I needed something better.- The cold shoes uses a reverse screw to stay tight, which frequently come loose and wobble.- The top thread also uses a reverse screw which requires you to tighten the ball head and then spin your monitor round and round to tighten.- The top thread also tends to slip and come loose.So you're left with this wobbly monitor balanced on two loose screws, nearly impossible to tighten on both sides.Anyway, I knew I needed a nonslip thread. I've tried several, including a great SmallRig magic arm. But this head works great to mount a monitor or a light to my cold shoe without the ballhead annoyances. It's smaller, lighter, and looks cleaner.Couple comments:- When it first arrived I was confused how to screw it together and tighten it. You need to turn the head down and tighten the top screw with the included Allen wrench. That determines what rotation you would like when mounted.- Because of this design, it's not intended to be easily rotatable. But I don't want my base easily rotating (that's how the others come loose and wobble). So I locked mine down as tight as I could. I really just want it to tilt (and I can rotate the monitor with the top thread).- Tilting is friction based dependent on the side screws. Just attach your monitor or whatever, and tighten accordingly. I had to tighten mine down a tad so my monitor + battery hold a position, but was also easy to adjust. This is unlike a ball head, but I bought this to pair with a specific monitor. Nw that it's set I guess I don't need the allen wrench. Not sure what they meant by calling it toolless.Having the nonslip is really the 5 star. Especially when a monitor and other stuff is attached with cables. I can loosen/tighten using the bottom screw and not rotate the whole monitor.

I got this mount for my monitor for my camera, at first I didn’t like the price of this mount. However, after receiving it, I have to say; this is a very high-quality mount. Ten times better than the one that came with the monitor. The mount is all metal which is super nice, and it is easy to adjust out of the box. It will come with an Allen wrench to tighten the screws if you don’t like how easy it is to adjust. Overall the only thing that I wish was a little different was if the mount was just a little bit taller. However, overall, this is a nice mount, and If you are looking for a new mount or better mount for an LED light or a monitor for your camera, this mount will work great for you.

This is a nice looking unit. I especially like the red accents.It is well made, light weight and surprisingly small.Probably the best feature is the fact that you can adjust the tension/friction levels for both the tilt and swivel. Many of the other brands don’t allow for that which is especially important when I’m using my 7” monitor and a large battery as it gets very heavy.Good job guys.

Unfortunately I don't have a monitor, but. I do have a light and this worked well for my light. I haven't used it out in the field too much, but will definitely be using it for the next set of weddings I have coming up. It's easy to adjust and attach my light to. Overall happy with the product.

It works great with an external mic and frees up the hot shoe. Highly recommend.

It feels very solidly built and has some weight to it. The articulation is smooth and accurate. There's really nothing to complain about here. Its not a complicated accessory and does what it is designed to do.

It fits as described, but was a little bit bulky for the camera. It was a good purchase for the price.
