Iโm so happy with this cookbook
Iโm very happy I purchased this cookbook. I love this book and everything inside and about this cookbook. I love cookbooks but I love everything this book offers, I have loved everything about New Orleans the year I went with my sister durning Mardi Gras but my visit was much more than just a visit durning this time but I love the food and this book is so much more, I hate I waited as long as I did with ordering this copy but Iโm very thrilled and very happy with my book Creole Gumbo and all that Jazz a New Orleans seafood Cookbook. One of the best Creole Cookbooks for seafood!
These are the wonderful dishes my Gramma used to make decades ago, in her tiny kitchen on Burgundy St. not far from the French Quarter.

If you love New Orleans cooking you need this book
Highly pleased with this. I already had this book in paperback and liked it so much that I had to get a hardbound copy. I believe that this may be the best cookbook on New Orleans Creole cooking yet written. Does not include Cajun, unless the dish has moved into the Creole sphere. Just amazing on recipes and techniques. So, I was extremely pleased that the vendor delivered a copy that was exactly as described and packaged in such a way as to arrive in pristine condition.

Definately Recommended
This book gives an excellent background of the accounts of early new orleans as well as a good deal of information about the common ingredients in creole cooking and how they made their way into the melting pot that is new orleans today. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading through it and speaking with my grandpa about his experiences in new orleans during the 40s. He says of many of the dishes that they sound familiar and he just ate it, he didn't have a name for it.So far I have only tried the Courtbouillon recipe which is pretty standard but delicious anyway.

A classic book with a lifetime of recipes. Fascinating.
This great cookbook/travel book could/should have been published on better quality paper.

Sure it's a bit dated now (written in 70's) but lots of good things to try out
