I had an Nady SCM 800 where the capsule finally gave. Luckily before it croaked, I was able to capture a guitar cab impulse response with the old capsule. I shot it out against this capsule and I gotta say it was a vast improvement. The sound is less bright and more thumpy.But I am eventually going to replace the capsule again with a 47 style capsule.

Okay so the Capsule requires an External FET, in other words a Mosfet or transistor to take the high impedance of the Mic Capsule down and it is also going to require external power source, either from phantom power on your mixer, or otherwise. then you will be able to hear it well, the mic has an immense amount of bass so use a higher value capacitor to filter that to a normal level, I used 2 0.22UF capacitors one to the frame and one to the output. still a bit more basey than I would like, point is you will not hear it well unless you use a FET. Schematic included of what I build to accommodate this.

I used this 25mm element to replace the 16mm element in the BM800 mic I'm using for amateur radio. Now the gang all tells me that the BM800 sounds better than my expensive Heil headset mic ! It was a great upgrade at a cheap price for the already cheap price of the BM800 !

A bit more coloration in the 2-3k region than the comparable TransSound capsules everyone uses. But wider pickup field and much better low end IMO.

I replaced a smaller mic with this one and with the amp turned all the way up, you can barely hear a sound. It seems to be trash, don’t waste your money.

Standard Electret capsule for easy DIY upgrades the BM/NW-800 or the 700's. It is an improvement, but as designed this combo is an entry mic at best.

I bought this capsule to install in a BM 800, and it definitely improved my audio quality. The fact that it comes with the mount for the capsule is a nice bonus. I didn't even need to mod the smaller capsule mount or 3D print my own to use this.
