May be sturdy if you can get to fit. Don't expect a nice finish as NOTHING is protected during packaging. ALL SCRATCHED UP!!
Edsal's products may perform as expected, but they have little to no care in how their product arrives to their customers (I've purchased 3 shelve units and a metal "30x60" bench from them recently). The dudrabiity of the product is not my concern as far as function (unless they will be kept in a moist or salty environment) but aesthetically, I can't stand rust, even if its surface rust, which will obviously get worse over time. Everything that Ive bought from them is painted heavy steel, and everything is carelessly packaged with nothing protecting the individual peices from gouging each other during shipment, or even just basic handling from the store to your home or business. Every single piece of steel support beam or wire rack or coupler, etc., is completely loose inside the box sliding around and smashing into other parts. This may be ok if its going to store junked car parts or something but not if its going in my home or business. I want a NEW product. Now that that's covered, the issue I'm running into during assembly is that the couplers (joining the upper and lower support beams) do not want to connect. They're all pressed too tight! So now I have to take each one and pry them apart enough to fit. Of course that means using tools and tarnishing the painted finish even more.I'm highly unimpressed with this company and the way they send their products out to the customer. I will not be buying anything from them again.

it is a great shelving unit
Before you buy this, you need to know a few things... it is a great shelving unit, wire shelves are awesome, will hold anything....but this is our second set of shelves from them, and both times we were missing parts. The first time was a side shelf bracket, this time one of the support couplers! I have another unit just like this due to arrive tomorrow. I will spit nails if it is also missing something. I have a call in to customer support, will let you know how long it takes to get replacement parts.

Some helpful Tips
WHEW! Just finished spending 3 + hours putting this thing together. I wanted to leave a review hoping that this will help others. If you want to build the TALL shelf, you will have to use the "Edsal" clips included to attach the bars together. This is where ALL the time and TROUBLE comes into play. The directions state that you can use either a rubber mallet, which is suggested, but if one is not available, then you could use a hammer and a block of wood. The hammer and block of wood option, however, DOES NOT work. You will definitely need a rubber mallet--we had to go out and buy one. Still, even with a rubber mallet the clips are very difficult to get on. You may need to use a flathead screwdriver to slightly pry the clip open so the bars will go in, but be careful not to open them too much or the shelf will be unstable. We finally got it all together and it seems to be working out great. Two people are definitely needed for this job. Hope this helps!

Do not move these by yourself. The legs will bend..
Great for getting things off the floor. The shelve racks seem to be well made. The downside the rails are very flimsy and makes it difficult to hang things off the side using S hooks. Like power cords. Or my bicycle. Thought this product would be industrial strength rails. If you sneeze on them they will bend. I hope that I don't have parts missing in the last box. When I received my 4 units, the boxes were damaged and some parts were shoved in another box which had me wondering if we recieved everything.

The reason is because the couplers are HORRIBLE if you don't know what to do
I bought two of these. The first one took me an hour to build. The second one took me 15 minutes. The reason is because the couplers are HORRIBLE if you don't know what to do. I think their spec of the coupler gap might be a little off. Or after they paint or powder coat it, it makes it super tight. So what you need to do is widen the gap w/ a flat head screw driver a LITTLE. Then you can easily bang them in w/ a hammer/mallet. I was banging it w/ a mallet and it wasn't moving at all until I made the gap a little wider. Also when you first start to build it from the bottom shelf, you think it is unsteady. But once you add the other 4 shelves it becomes very sturdy. I like how the shelves have a gap so it holds things inside and it doesn't fall off the shelf. This might be bad if you want things to hang outside of the shelf or have big items that you want to slide in and out of the shelf. But I like this a lot and am thinking about buying one or two more.

Shipped in poor condition
Shipping box was in good condition. After opening box I found several parts to bent and damaged. The parts did not fit together well. I didn't have time to return it, so I hammered the pieces enough to get it together. I used zip ties to secure the shelves to the frame. Very disappointed with the product. It looked like the parts were just tossed into the shipping box, not properly prepared for shipping. Since the shipping box was not damaged, I blame the manufacturer.

Good shelves but a piece was missing.
The item itself is great. It's sturdy, has good shelf space, and is easy to put together. The only issue I had was when the package arrived, it had been torn open and taped back shut. While putting it together I realized it was missing 1 of the 4 couplers that is used to make the shelf sections connect and make one upright tower-style shelf. Without this one piece, stacking the shelves would have been dangerous and resulted in a catastrophic crash in the garage. I was fine with switching to the two side-by-side shelf configuration, but was very disappointed to know that such a crucial piece was missing. So, I love the shelves, but don't know who is at fault for the missing piece- delivery company, manufacturer, or Amazon.
