We ordered a matching RuffleButts swimming suit and hat. My husband and I watched RuffleButts on Shark Tank and we were very excited to try the products ourselves. Our daughter is 12 months old and wears 12-18 month size clothing. The hat that we purchased for her was listed as a 12-24 month hat. According to our pediatrician, our daughter's head is in the 48th percentile, which shows that her head is right about average size. We ordered the hat in February as a birthday gift for our little girl. She just recently opened the hat and tried it on. The hat barely covers the top of her head. It will not stay on her head and I have already missed the date to return this item. The hat itself is cute, but the sizing for the product is way off. I would strongly suggest ordering the hat in the size bracket above what you would normally need. Great looking product, you just have to know the ins and outs of the different sizes....

Don’t waste your time waiting for the order to find it doesn’t fit. Our 12 month olds head is about 16 in around. Customer service claims their hats works to 19 and sit at the top of the head. It might as well be a flat circle you tie around their chin. The design of it would be wonderful, tightens around the circumstance of their heads, if only the size was right. It seems like this is a common complaint. Maybe it’s time to rethink the sizing. Great material and quality seems too notch. Really bummed it doesn’t work. Will be paying to $3-4 tonreturn 😕

This is the first ever item from RuffleButts I’ve purchased and I LOVE it! The material is like a swim suit, not typical cotton like most you see in stores. It’s very light weight. I imagine I will soak it in the water, ring it out and place on babies head for added coolness. Probably why they made it in this material. But what I love the most (and was a little concerned about) is the drawstring for around the head for accurate sizing! My LO is small for eight months so I was torn. Get the size she’s probably in right now (3-6 mo, so 0-6 mo hat) OR size up so she can wear it for the entire summer without fear of her growing out of it. It fits perfect!! Very customizable fitting with the drawstring function and tie under. I love it. Can’t wait for her swim suit to come in!

My baby is 9 months old, and the hat is too small. I bought a 6-12 month.

I recently bought my 20 month old the dark blue polka dot swimsuit from Rufflebutts. We loved it so much we bought it in a 2nd color, and got this dark blue matching hat. I was worried about the sizing, as 12-24 months is the largest option and reviews say it runs small. But I chanced it anyway, and am glad I did. It doesn't seem to me to run small, in fact I don't think she will grow out of it any time soon.Great purchase since we definitely needed a hat with the straps (the bigger sized matching hats don't have straps for some reason)

The hat came earlier than expected and fit nicely. It has an adjustable drawstring at the top of the hat with a cute little flower, I think, for smaller heads and has a string to secure under chin. If I HAD to find 1 complaint, it would be that if it's not tight enough, which is almost impossible on a curious baby that refuses to cooperate, it slides against hair fairly easy. Our baby is Black and Puerto Rican and has VERY thick, tight curls, but also some straighter spots of hair and the texture of the hat slides very easily against it. I believe it's made to be somewhat water proof, which is perfect for the beach, but for bbqs I'll have to buy another sun hat, perhaps made of cotton or something more clinging. All in all super cute hat and it definitely blocked the sun when it did stay in place.

We have two hats, one for each of our 2 1/2 year old and 4 1/2 year old children. We purchased the same size for them and they fit very well. They also stay on very well because of the strings. They fold up very well and flat to fit in the pocket behind our car seats, in a backpack or in a stroller. They’d even fit in your pocket! The brims are far enough out to protect our daughters entire faces from the sun. They are comfortable to wear, both children love them! I’d buy these again.
