Making Whoopies: The Official Whoopie Pie Book

What a history the humble Whoopie pie has! Every state claims they were the first. Being older, from an Amish/Mennonite background based in Pennsylvania, I have never seen or heard of Whoopie pies until I married someone from Maine. Delectable morsels they are so I'm not going to quibble over who came up with them. I love them and this book!

Enjoyed reading the history of the Whoopie Pie. Would have liked a few more recipes, though. Still a good read for the Whoopie Pie enthusiast or like myself, someone who enjoys cooking!

Bought as a gift. Can't wait for my niece to make some! Yummy

This cookbook doesn't have a lot of recipes but they are good ones. Lots of history and current activity surrounding Whoopie Pies. It's fun and creative.

This book was not as informative recipe wise as other information was more generous in this one. Enjoyable book, good for starters.

This is a very nice whoopie pie book. I gave this book to my sister, as it was something she had seen and wanted. She has used it several times, and I have had some of the whoopie pies.

I was really excited to get this book. When it stated there were TWELVE recipes to making whoopie pies and filling I was really excited. I thought, finally I can make all kinds of different pies. Not the case. Each recipe one change one or two ingredients and/or amount of ingredient. So you really get a recipe for Chocolate pie, 1 vanilla and 1 red velvet. Icing recipe is either with or without marshmallow fluff... I'm sorry, but EVERY single recipe listed is FREE on the internet, which is where the author got them, or was given to her by a bakery... I thought these would be new, exciting recipes and fillings. The author talked about how exciting it is to try different fillings with different cake flavors, such as Peanut Butter or Mint combinations, etc. and did not include any recipes. How are we to make these exciting combinations, when the base recipe isn't included to make them? This is the first time I have ever decided to return a book to amazon. I think it was a complete waste of money.

Wonderful compilation of whoopie pies recipes. I plan to make some whoopie pies soon.

This was an xmas present for the other half. Only had whoopies once, which were lush. Fancy them again now ;-(

Different, and nice.

Fan de livres anglais, j'ai craqué pour quelques livre sur les whoopie pies, LA nouvelle tendance qui nous arrive d'outre atlantique. Ce livre propose quelques recettes très sympa, parfaitement accessible, rien de bien compliqué mais demandent souvent de la " marshmallow fluff " pour la garniture, un produit dur à trouver en France ( mais ouf, Internet est là et on en trouve sur quelques sites web français ) aussi, autre petit bémol, il y a presque plus d'historique et de choses autres à lire que de recettes, c'est un peu dommage et c'est la chose que j'ai vraiment regretté dans ce livre, les recettes se perdent un peu dans cet amas de lecture pour un petit livret comme celui ci. Son originalité est sa forme, en effet, le livre est arrondi sur sa partie supérieure comme un whoopie pies ! Pas mal ;-)

As I said in my title I was disappointed in the content of this book - too few recipes and too much background detail.
