Almost as good as lots and lots of nose clams, fresh from the sea!
No wait, better. Charlie, Sweet Dee, Frank, Dennis and Mac all come back ready to bust comedy all over us with season 3. I've watched Sunny since it's infancy and fell in love from the start. I fell off a bit in Season 2 and then found time in my schedule again once Season 3 got rollin. And with a season like this one, you would be dumber than Lil' Kev to not get this set.Just about every single episode is a classic. From Fatty McGoo and dating retarded people to getting whacked and the now infamous Dayman/Nightman, there is not one episode you can watch without laughing hysterically at one point or another. With memorable appearances by Rickety Cricket, Peter Nincompoop, Green Man and the McPoyles, and of course, The Electric Dream Machine, you cannot go wrong. Frank is more over the top than ever, Dennis makes a beautiful prototype dress that no model is fit to wear except him (to the tune of Rick Astley's 'Never Gonna Give You Up' no less), Mac's amazing on the scene news camera reporting and makeup and watching Charlie and Dee battle another addiction (glue/paint huffing, crack and steriods before) are all instant day-makers. But there is nothing better than a rousing rendition of Dayman (uhh-aaahhhhhh!) to put a smile (or bizarre look) on the face of anyone in earshot. Even if you just saw one or two episodes from last season and liked those, this is worth the money (especially on amazon, cheaper than the stores) and you will get hooked on the show.If last night's season premiere is any indicator, there's a lot more where that came from coming up. I mentioned in passing to my mom that she should give it a shot and since she gets everything 3 hours ahead of me, I got a phone call at 8pm where she was laughing so hard she could barely speak. With drama, drama, drama filling up the airwaves, Always Sunny is a very warm welcome and reprieve from the seriousness that will leave you struggling to breathe you are laughing so much. Some people will say that the show has peaked, but it's not even close to peaking, and when it does peak, it will peak all over the tv.

The world's funniest antidote to politeness
I wanted to dislike Always Sunny for a long time - in truth, I found most sitcoms so rote as to never elicit a laugh of any kind. What turned me around on Always Sunny was the sheer undeniability of how much I was laughing, and the reasons why I was laughing. One extraordinarily funny scene in the extraordinary third season comes in "The Gang Sell Out." In order to woo a potential investor to buy the bar, the guys take him to a strip club, the idea itself like spitting off the cliff of good taste. The investor winds up being gay, but that doesn't stop the gang from arguing with no idea of good sense about whether this gay man was "a bear" or "a twink." I could explain, probably boringly, why this is one of the funniest scenes I ever remember seeing, but if I had one reason to explain, it would just be how much the characters believe every awful word they're saying, continuing with total obliviousness to the million reasons they can't and shouldn't say what they're saying. To say that Always Sunny is a gift in an overly polite society puts it mildly - that these characters are allowed to exist with all their idiot preconceptions gives me hope for mankind. Season 3 is when the show truly comes into its own as well, abandoning every pretense that the characters had "normal" lives from the first two seasons. Now, we know they're universally hated, smelly, and only manage to make life worse for themselves and everyone around them. May they keep making me fall out of my chair with things I shouldn't be laughing at forever.

Not as excellent as expected
While I really loved the two first seasons of It's Allways sunny, the third season is not as excellent. There are many reasons: to seom degree they push irreverence somewhat too far even for me. Some episodes like the double "The gang gets whacked" are simply not that great, in that episode the sophomoric drug humour is somewhat tiring. The themes are: the gang finds a dumpster baby (which is an OK episode) and overall the first half of the season is rather good but it tnds to spiral downwards after the second disc: themes are: teh agng sells out, frank sets sweet dee on fire, sweet dee is dating a retarded person, mac is a serial killer...oh boy. And this stuff is not really that funny. One point is that even in the first two seasons, adding Danny DeVito was not such a great idea, since his character tends to be more over the top and mroe gross than the rest to are really silly and funny. Anyway as I sa, the first disc is very good and those episodes stand up with wtaht we had seen before.

Catchy, Edgy Low Budget Humor that Allows One to Smirk Often
Comedy is often so hard to reveiw simply because what's funny to one person is not funny to another. In my ongoing search to find a comedy television series to replace Seinfeld, with many failures along the way, I did find this show to be not so much a knock-out, laughing outloud, type of show but one that had me silently smirking often. Another reason for a 4 star review is this show appears to be getting better with every season which is even rarer for comedy on television. It's a very simple slapstick style of humor that is somewhat original and touches on societies hang-ups. Every television does this but Always Sunny on Philadephia finds a way to not necessarily take sides but find the humor with both points of view. Name a show that can take the pro-life/pro-choice problem and find a way to make fun of both sides without siding with one point of view over another but often offending both sides. That takes creative writing. 4 stars here * * * *

Must have a sense of humor
I had never heard of this show, but I'm so glad I bought this for my boyfriend. It is absolutely hilarious. If you are easily offended, do not buy. For those with a sense of humor, you'll love it.
