Nice quality adapter for any cMP that has the mini PCIe 6pin connectors
It works perfectly and other than my GPU tripping OCP on my 5,1 Mac Pro it worked very well and the cable quality itself was very nice.

Works with Radeon VII and Mac Pro 5,1 (2012)
Works perfectly. I have come from having an AUX PSU in the system which was not a clean solution to using these 8(6+2) pins with onboard mini 6 Pin connectors. In my opinion the Mac Pro's 980W and wiring on the logic board is adequate for my purposes - my card usage does not involve high/peak GPU usage for sustained periods, maybe very short burst every so often.

Fits MacPro 2008 - 2012, a must for many new GPU upgrades
if you have a 2008 - 2012 Mac Pros have two MINI 6 PIN connectors on the logic board, both provided 75WThis is the cable to use when the total draw of the card does not exceed 150 W.Another 75W is provided by the PCIe slot itself. If you need to run two 6+2 or 8 PIN Graphic Processing Unit Cards (GPU) on a "Cheese Grater Classic Mac Pro" from the existing Mac Pros Power Supply Unit (PSU) both cards need to draw under 150W each, and each will require their own cable. If you already have a card that's older and has a cable and you're adding a new card to run with it you don't need to replace the old cable with the old card. If you by a new GPU the old cable will more-than-likely not fitIf you need to run a GPU that draws OVER 150 W OR has TWO plugs on the card you need to draw power from both connecters on the two MINI 6 PIN connectors on the Mac Pro logic board.if your GPU has TWO 6+2 pin, OR TWO 8 pin, OR a combination of 6+2 and 8 on the card you will need TWO of these cables. if you plan to run another GPU it either needs external power or it needs to work with less than 75 W, either of the x4 PCie Slot or the remaining x16 oneIf your GPU as ONE 6+2, OR ONE 8 pin, AND requires more than 150W you need a Dual Mini 6 Pin to 8 Pin PCI cable, not this one.

Inexpensive electrical cable delivers as expected. Sheathing is TOUGH and not flexible.
IMHO, a 3-star rating indicates that an item is "good enough," neither "great" nor "bad."This cable does exactly what it describes, by delivering 12 volts from the MacPro motherboard to your 6-/8-pin-hungry GPU. My lackluster rating reflects that the sheathing on this cable is extremely tough, with unnecessary thickness that actually could introduce a strain to the motherboard connector if not properly/carefully installed/BENT into position. While it is very nice that the adapter can fit both 6 & 8 pin applications, I'd like to see the wires not be so tough for typical user installations (I can see this cable becoming problematic in a rushed installation).

Good quality
Nice quality cable. Flexible and decent connecters on the end. I use this in my 2009 Mac Pro and so far no problems
