Bargello: An Explosion in Color Hardcover – January 1, 1974

It is always better to be taught something by someone who has mastered the art. Not someone who took it up a few months ago and now styles themselves an expert or someone who wrote some book under contract to a publisher using cobbled together instructions but from someone who "knows of what they speak".I learned Bargello using these Margaret Boyles books, and learned it well. The instructions and graphs are clear and to the point. The pictures are straight forward and her color use is excellent. I find I rarely want to duplicate anyone else's color combinations however I find myself referring to Margaret Boyles books when I need color inspiration or just a color kick in the pants.Margaret Boyles books are all out of print now and can be tricky to find. Do not give up. You will not regret it.I am writing a lot of these reviews. As a buyer of these out-of-print books, I always wish there was more information about them available. So, I am doing this in hopes others will too and there will more of these reviews out here.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS A BOOK ABOUT BARGELLO QUILT PATTERNS.. WAS A BIT MIFFED THAT IT WASNT BUT IT KINDA TEACHES WHAT BARGELLOS ARE AND HOW TO MAKE THEM INTO QUILTS IF YOU PAY ATTENTION CLOSE ENOUGH

I had to return it because I thought it was a quilt pattern but it was cross stitch but was in with the quilt patterns

For being a 70's book, having just a little tear on the protective cover and just a bit of a blunted corner it looks almost brand new! The colour prints are still as if new, overall fantastic copy I got.

Has good clear charts to work from, even for a total beginner. Explains the design theory so you can make your own designs.

Sad I thought it was a quilt pattern book.

A great book. Great diagrams, explanations, colors. Delivery was on time. Book condition as advertised.

I love needle pointing but hate the "new" patterns they sell in the stores. I would prefer to make something that will last for generations. This book is just that. Great patterns. I actually just finished make the cover pattern into a foot stool
