Refresher for my martial arts skills

This book is absolutely fantastic! There is so much detail and explanation. I have read many martial arts books but none have had anywhere near the amount of information that this book has. Regardless of the style I would highly recommend this book to anyone that is looking to further their knowledge in the martial arts. The attention to detail is unlike any other martial arts book I have read.

A well-written text for both novices and masters. I found the book to be a fascinating introduction to the martial arts, filled with practical advice for serious martial artists or untrained readers, like me, who want to know more about self-defense techniques, like daily awareness of my surroundings or how to make an officer feel safe when he stops my car.

I am long time student of Grand Master Adams. I am also an editor of this fine text. Coming up through the ranks to my black belt, I have read my fine books on karate. I have not read anything as thorogh and detailed as Master Modell's treatise. Through the years, I have made and kept my notes from each dojo visit, in a binder. Over the course of 13 years, I have compiled a fine set of notes, but still nothing in comparison to this book. Its the treatise that I wish I had as I was learning each kata and the bung kai. I would recommend this book for anyone studying Isshin Ryu karate. It makes things understandable and will make you a far better karate-ka or black belt. Osu!

I have read several books in my short 8 year isshinryu experience. Nothing compares to the amount and detail of information Sensei Model packs in this book. It is great and will continue to be a learning tool throughout my career. I highly recommend this as a must have for your library.

I like how this book is really in-depth of isshinryu karate. It helped me pass my blackbelt test. The book is really good for isshinryu karate students working on black belt tests.it is the best book on isshinryu I have read
