XML in a Nutshell: A Desktop Quick Reference

The More You Know
XML in a Nutshell covers everything I need to know about XML. While I love getting into the gritty over at w3, this book provides a handy reference for everything day-to-day. The table of contents is perfectly laid out and from there finding what you need takes but moments. I don't know what more I could want from a book of this nature.

very, very good
I think some of the other reviews have already said it, but really, this is a great book. Not just as a quick reference, not just as a technical book, but as a book. It's well written and easy to understand once you're familiar with the vocabulary. I've enjoyed reading it. My advice to those who don't like it is to really focus on chapter 3.

If you use XML, this is your ideal reference!
This is an extremely valuable reference. I no longer have to search the web for answers to subtle questions or constructs within XML. It is now at my fingertips.

Great as both a quick primer and a review/reference on XML
I bought it mostly based on the publisher reputation and only a few on-line comments about it. It's great to refresh my memory or a quick reference to look up an unknown feature. It's an O'Reilly book - you can't go wrong!

Spine needed to be glued
I would say that the condition was only good, not very good.

Best XML reference I ever saw
This book claims to be your only needed guide in XML and related topics. It covers almost all you can imagine. I liked it very much and glad, that I have a book, that I can use like XML reference.I have just nothing to say about this book except it contains ALL information one can need on XML.

Bible for the XML klutz
I sold this book. I wish I hadn't.I write 'correct' XHTML: all the online tutorials tell me that, hey, I've got it down already. They're wrong; I hadn't even skimmed the surface! This hefty tome takes you all the way from first XML principles to tantalising challenges, where you see just how powerful a universally-understood protocol can be. I read those parts, but wasn't ready to put them into practice ... I want the book back!!I'd advise getting it, using it until the pages have turned to mulch, and keeping up with the related websites. Don't let its weight & volume put you off, like I did!

Good for beginner
I bought this book to learn XML concepts. The way they describe the XML is really understandable and easy. For beginner this book is really good.

A great place to start for techie types
True to form for the Nutshell guides, its brief, to the point and explains most XML related concepts XSL, XPATH, XML Schema etc in a really readble format. If you've every written an kind of programming language then this is an excellent guide to take you through XML.I wouldn't say the coverage is 100%, it simply wouldn't fit in a concise guide like this if it were, it will cover the vast majority - theres always google for that one case of something really odd.
