I purchased this for my son who has autism. I usually buy him jump ropes at Walmart. The jump ropes at Walmart cost me 8.00 each for about 6 feet of rope. My son has me cut them in half leaving two pieces of jump ropes (3 ft each) He uses them to stim (He taps his communication device to calm him) He also has pica so he chews on them. He needs a cord that doesn't break or crumble so he doesn't choke. I was hoping to find the cord material, but less expensive. This is EXACTLY was I was hoping to get! He loves it! I will be purchasing this over and over! Thank you so much for having this cord for my son!

We received our ropes (they come 2 in the box) recently and are happy with our purchase. We received the hot pink color. These ropes are plastic so they are lighter than a braided cloth rope, but it does the job till we can get one of those. When you turn slow, the rope tends to collapse a bit. The middle part that hits the ground also gets frayed. We've only used it 3 times and it's still holding up. I like the way the ends can slide through that black casing. You can adjust the size of the rope a bit. Our rope seems a bit large for a regular game of double dutch. If it was a foot or maybe a foot and a half shorter it would be perfect.We were inspired to start jumping double dutch after watching the recent Annie movie with Jamie Fox and Quvenzhané Wallis (as Annie). I learned to jump when I was younger, but I had completely forgotten to teach my children how to jump. No one else jumps in our neighborhood so I guess it just slipped my mind. I actually got to meet up with Michelle Evette Clark (and her husband Sean) the consultant who taught double dutch to the actors in that movie. She has a business called Double Dutch Aerobics. She's inspiring me to become a Double Dutch Aerobics Certified Instructor! This rope isn't the top quality one they use to teach people (that one is multi-braided, thick cloth that is heavier than a plastic rope but also doesn't hurt if it hits you. It keeps the same arc even when turning really slowly), but it will help our children and I to practice until I'm certified and get my quality rope!
