About Buttons: A Collector's Guide, 150 AD to the Present

Damaged! I’m not impressed & not very unhappy. I live in NZ, I cant see the economics in returning what is a beautiful book for replacement... I received the parcel yesterday, I opened the front cover a moment ago, to find the cover seam has been ripped from top to bottom away from the body of pages... all that is holding it together is a fine mesh binding fabric... I’m so very disappointed Amazon. I just checked further into the book & found what you see in the 2nd photo :(

A bit pricey for the content. This book does not cover many modern ages 1950s and beyond and was disappointing for the lackluster summaries for the price.

Book had wonderful color pictures. A used book in very good condition.

I bought this book specifically for research into buttons from the 1400s-1600s time period. You would think that with a title like About Buttons - From 150 A.D. to the Present, there would be something in there. Not so! It begins with 18th century buttons. Looks like a fabulous book for anyone looking for 1750s on up, but do not spend your money if you are looking for earlier. There is no mention at all of earlier period buttons. This is getting shipped right back.

I can't stop looking and reading it. The exciting part was I found two buttons in the book that I have.

For button collectors, this is a fantastic book.

I recommend this book by many reasons. There are not so many books of this size and pages and of course the information and pictures it contains.nVery good pictures. Different styles, categories and time periods. Also nice to see buttons in a good way what is not available by the prize or rarity.
