The Dandelion Seed: A Life Cycle Nature Book for Kids (Plants For Children, Science For Kindergarten)

I ordered this book to give to a friend who recently lost her husband due to cancer. On the day of the funeral, while she was in the limo waiting to enter the church, the wind blew a big "cloud" of dandelion seeds across the field of the church grounds. It was a beautiful reminder of God's creation and love. I searched for a children's book that she could read to her grandchildren to remind them of the wonderful memories they had with their grandfather and found "The Dandelion Seed". The pictures that were shown online were beautifully painted and the words were comforting. I knew this book would encourage and be a comfort to my friend. I thought it was a wonderful way to honor someone we will miss so much.

A delightful story on the continuity of life, as revealed through the humble dandelion. Also, excellent detail on the value to be found in "the least of these". Marvelous illustrations!

While many will like this book for its metaphorical message, I appreciated the full-paged pictures, especially the ones showing close-ups of dandelion seeds. It always amazes me that so many children who pick the heads of dandelions to blow away the "fluff" don't realize that they're helping Mother Nature to disperse her seeds. It's also nice to see dandelions portrayed in a positive light, not as a pest of manicured lawns. This would be a great book to use for primary or preschool aged children in conjunction with the collection and study of dandelion seeds.

I loved this book. I am at a crossroads in my life - my job of 30 years ended and I’m having to relocate. This simple, beautiful story had a lot of meaning for me.

What a sweet story. My three year old granddaughter picked this out at the library and loved it. So much so that I had to buy it for her. We read and reread it and never tire of it. The illustrations almost bring tears to my eyes. It is a lovely book on may levels of understanding.

My granddaughter loves the book! She asks to read it every time she visits. The illustrations are simply beautiful! I also has such a message to discover with children as you read it. I would strongly recommend this book for teachers to use as a life lesson in conjunction with science.

Such beautiful illustrations, and a great way to walk kids through the seasons and the lifecycle of a seed. I've read this with the kids at our school garden program, and will use it often!

When looking for a book for my 2 year old son, I found this, and as we have just moved to a more green area, i thought it be Ideal.for him to learn about the life cycle of plants and how they grow, and now he has the understanding that seeds grow to plants.It is a magical tale of one little seed, and the perils it faces through life's journey. Very easy for my son to understand and the illustrations are wonderful, as he looks for the seed, spots the seagulls, deer's and cows. A truly enchanting and captivating book for both children and adults,It's the only story book he wants read( 2 - 3 times a day) , Our daily walks now take a lot lot lot longer as he looks for dandelion plants, flowers( and the butterfly's and bee's who take the nectar) and seeds to blow into the wind,

This story book explains charge in the most simplistic yet powerful snd empowering way. It can be understood for any age. .
