Easy to use, worked like a champ
Wasn't sure what to do when I stripped the threads on a mounting bracket on the engine of my truck while changing coil packs. Did some research and ran across this 'helicoil' technology. I needed a pretty small on (M5), and none of the local auto parts stores carried any that small. Found this set on Prime-Same Day delivery, and ordered it.It arrived as shown....no instructions whatsoever. Having watched a couple of YouTube videos on using helicoils for thread repair, it was pretty self explanatory. The kit comes with the coils, a drill bit, a tapping drill bit, a punch and the insertion tool. Instructions would be:1. Drill out the existing hole using the 'plain' drill bit.2. Tap the hole with the tapping bit to create some threads for the helicoil. A little cutting oil helps here (a drop or two).3. Blow or vacuum out any of the metal shavings from Steps 1 & 2.4. Place a coil on the end of the insertion tool, with the tang of the coil in the bottom slot on the tool. If you are working in a tight spot, or in a downward position, put a dab of grease on the tool. The stickiness will hold the coil on the tool.5. Screw the coil into the prepared hole. There is a set screw and collar on the tool you can use to set the insertion depth of the coil, if needed.6. Once at the desired depth (typically a turn or two below the lip of the hole), remove the tool, and insert the punch.7. Tap the punch with a hammer (gently) and break off the tang. Blow or vacuum the tang out if needed.8. Install your bolt as designed. All in, this took me about 10 minutes, and the bolt threaded in perfectly and locked in tight.

Worx! Perfectly!
Used this on my 2014 cruze timing cover valve cover bolt holes! If it dont make sense go to nxt review. Well the holes do have bottoms but definitely use a rag or towel to keep shavings out of oil or crank case. Keep them straight and they work perfectly. Torque to spec np. Good product.

Worked great
Needed to fix a couple of tapped holes in my dirt bike clutch cover. Followed the instructions and everything worked awesome. Great product.

Excellent idea, pretty good implementation.
Love the concept and the idea. My only issue is the coils split apart if you use too much force. Also had the insertion tool bend at the end, getting stuck around the end of the coil. Might have been my awkward engine, but was still concerning. Otherwise, it really seems to do what it's supposed to do, and despite these issues I've mentioned, I'd buy again and would recommend.

Works great fast shipping
First one was hard to remove the tread installation toolI recommend lightly removing a bit of paint from your the tool as it becomes hesitant to remove overall great for price. And got it done

They will “probably” work for you.
This set is just OK. I used them to repair the rocker arm bolts on my mower engine(kohler command). The tap and drill were great, I had zero problems using them in aluminum. The helicoil install tool is very cheaply made. It would bend slightly as I screwed in the helicoils and become stuck in the hole. The helicoils themselves were crimped in the wrong spot(just slightly off) so the tabs didn’t break off cleanly. I strongly recommend only screwing in the helicoils until they are just below the surface, that way you can remove them if the tab doesn’t break off right. Just pry up the top coil and pull them out to remove. Once the helicoils were installed, it’s hard to get your bolt screwed in because the top of the helicoil has sharp edges. At the end of the day these did work for me, but they were more trouble than name brand. If you’re determined to save money, just know that you’re making a gamble here.

It worked.
Torquing a caliper pin on a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT I felt the sudden loss of torque and knew threads had stripped.Rather than the pin itself it was the hole the pin screws into.It seems the SXT does NOT have the easily replaceable caliper bracket that the Amazon parts selector indicates will fit.On the SXT the caliper bolts directly to the steering knuckle, no bracket.I hadn't heard of these thread repair kits but it sounded like it might save me from having to tackle a bigger job than I wanted to do.And it worked! The caliper is now properly torqued and it was much less work/money than replacing the knuckle. The only thing I'd do differently next time is make sure I use an intermediate sized drill bit or two and work my way up to the proper size hole. Starting out with the bigger bit and having it catch can practically break a wrist. Are the bit and tap that came with the set good enough quality to use all the spiral inserts? Hopefully I won't need to find out.

Will work but not smooth
The kit will work, but installation is not smooth. I use this to fix aluminum thread my oil cooler (which can be removed from cad) if you are in some tight area, don’t buy this.Installation tool is super weak I have to modify by myself. Tapping tool works but the diameter is just a tiny little bit smaller which makes the coil installation surprisingly hard (always cross thread).

Bueno, pero falla
Overall, la broca y el machuelo funcionan muy bien, el problema viene cuando se inserta la cuerta y hay que romperla. En lugar de romperse estira la cuerda en el inserto.

included drill bit is of incorrect size
Drill bit supplied with is slightly too large in diameter for the tap size, resulting threads are not deep enough to retain the insert.Bite the bullet and buy a true Helicoil/Timesert kit, yes five times moreexpensive than this cheapo kit but at least you won't ruin your project like I did.
