A must read book for anyone pursuing acting
I’ve read this book when I suggested to read this by my photographer, and I have absolutely no regrets! Brian knows exactly what he’s talking about and shortcuts and all kinds of amazing ways to handle things professionally and how to grow and constantly hone your craft as an actor/actress. Brian O’Neil is a true class act, and extremely passionate about acting and the business of it, and he will be there for you to guide, and help you grow. Once I finished this book, I scheduled a 2 hour consultation with him, and all I can say. I’ve grown even more in 2 hours then I possibly could of have in only 2 years of pursuing acting, and if your really into to acting, and plan on making a career out of it, then reading this book is a must, and meeting with Brian is also a must as well for unexplainable growth!

Wonderful book! I wish I'd read it years ago.
Great guidance for actors at most career levels. He leans more towards actors based in NYC but has substantial information for those in LA and other markets too. There are a few, only a few, updates needed due to changes in the entertainment industry (ex. states changing their tax benefits which in turn effects those markets being favorable for production and therefore actors). Nevertheless I highly recommend this book.

Show Business is a BUSINESS- Get used to it!
I highly recommend this book for any actor who wants to make a living in show business. The craft and the business don't often "sync up" but it is important for actors to know the difference and gain an idea of how to navigate a career for yourself as an actor. This book really helps outline, step by step, various options and tactics for getting ahead as an entertainer in show business.

This is a great read for newbie actors
This is a great read for newbie actors. It helped me figure out the business better, more than a college course I took since I majored in acting. He has really helpful and insightful tips and strageties.

Good, simple overview.
A bit obvious. Leans toward theatre. Clearly has a lot of experience. Easy read, gives a nice overview of the business for people who know nothing (you can get lots more info on the internet/YouTube). I prefer Wendy Alane Wright's ebooks which give tons more hand on direction.

An excellent book, recommended by an actor friend
An excellent book, recommended by an actor friend. Although it is targeted at American actors, the most pertinent points are valid for those working in the UK. After all Acting IS a business, no matter where you are. Very happy with this book, and would highly recommend it to others in the industry.

A MUST HAVE for every professional actor
Well written. Every actor should treat his efforts as a business. Very informative for the professional actor still at the lower tier of his career. Covers most areas quite well. Every professional actor should buy, read and study this book at the beginning of their careers. If you've been acting for some time and your career seems to have stalled. DONT PANIC! Read this book.I also recommend using this book as a companion to the following: Self-Management for Actors: Getting Down to (Show) BusinessSelf-Management for Actors: Getting Down to (Show) Business
