Best investment ever
I’m not sure why there are so many mixed up reviews and answers to the questions. I have two iPad without a square stand. This easily connected to my cash drawer and WiFi router. BOTH iPads are connected to the receipt printer and BOTH can print at the same time as well as open up my cash drawer. The receipt are thick enough to read and make orders off of and the font size is nice. If you take orders with your iPad but do not have a square stand and need a printer that will connect to multiply iPads this is what you are looking for!!

We first bought the Wifi model and couldn't get the manufacturer or Square to figure out how to make the two communicate, even though it's supposed to be supported. We were told to return that and switch to this blue tooth model. Now this one won't communicate with Square either. It's the only receipt printer that Square publishes it supports. We don't have any odd setup, all brand new peripheral equipment, new iPad, Square stand/Register. Hours on support with both and no resolution to date.

Very Useful and Works Well
Got this so I could print receipts for my customers paying in person with a card, chip or smartphone. I use PayPal Now with an Android tablet and PayPal card reader. The printer was easy to set up and works very well. The only thing I have not been able to do is print my company logo at the top of the slip. However, the company name, address, phone number, and email prints. I think this is a function, and thus a problem of PayPal, not the printer. So I'm not blaming the printer at all. However, it would be nice to have my logo on the receipt and the ability to print a coupon or something too.

Perfect wireless solution for new POS systems!
I bought this printer when I converted my business to Square. It is awesome! Now my servers can take a small tablet to the tables, place the order and press "PRINT" and the ticket prints in the kitchen without the server needing to drop it off. Saves a lot of time and effort, especially when it's busy!

For the most part, not bad. But it did need repaired after about the first 3 weeks of minor use.
Overall, seems to be a decent printer to use with an iPad-based point of sale system. However, after about 3 weeks, the printer stopped cutting the receipts & went into an error mode that the owner's manual said was "non-recoverable". I contacted Star Micronics customer service & shipped to their repair facility. They got it back to me within 3-4 days & everything was covered under the warranty, minus the cost to ship the printer to them. So far, it seems to be working as expected since I got it back from being repaired. Perhaps I just got a bad one that came off the assembly line & somehow managed to slip through quality control.

Great printer for UBER Eats and Grubhub
This is the printer to get if you are using UBER Eats and Grubhub for your restaurant. Easy to set up on the network and was recognized by both the Grubhub and UBER Eats tablets for printing the order slips. Good image quality and prints quickly. Keep in mind this printer uses thermal paper not bond paper like a a kitchen printer so you'll need to keep the slips away from heat.

Works good after you manage to get it to connect
Printer works great with Square after you manage to get it to connect. The very first thing you want to is to set dip switch #3 to off. To do this, locate the tiny plate on the bottom that is held on by a Philips screw and remove the plate. The dip switches are there. Then, after installing the wifi link device, connect it to your computer's Ethernet using the included cord and configure the wifi adapter. Star Micronics suggests using the client mode. I had to use the bridge mode to get it to successfully connect to my hotspot. Don't forget to change the password from the default setting, by clicking the System Tools on the menu while you're setting it all up.
