The author examines cases of young children who speak spontaneously of past lives. He approaches the cases, in as much as it is possible to do so, with strict objectivity. He provides for each case a matrix summarizing the child's statements and the evidence as to whether the statements are true or not. He also examines various hypotheses as to how the child could have come into possession of specific knowledge, some of which is genuinely amazing. Without ever endorsing the concept of reincarnation, the author makes it clear that many of the established facts can not be explained through any other model. Very interesting book and well worth reading.

This is to my knowledge, the best and most comprehensive study I have had the pleasure to obtain. Dr. Stevenson has devoted his life to this study. In my opinion, this book will convince anyone who seriously studies reincarnation that it is in fact a proven science. I was very excited when I got my book that is to give proof of reincarnation. The only problem after reading the first few pages of this book is that it is put in very technical terms, very clinical, with almost no story lines in each of the cases. It was worth reading to investigate the possibility of reincarnation and some of the most valid cases, but I have read books with more of a conversational style that tends to keep you interested and on the edge of wanting to know more. This book lacks that unfortunately.

The author presents his findings in a scientific and logical manner. He seems to remain neutral in his opinions and presents a great deal for us to think about. It is a book worth reading. For those of us who doubt reincarnation, it gives us a scientific and nonjudgmental presentation. After reading this book I became convinced that reincarnation does exist.

Great analytical style used in the writing of this book. The author carefully documents all the facts, and is quite careful not to embellish or dramatize the cases he investigated. Moreover, the author is actually quite conservative in his analyses. This is a great book for someone who is very objectively seeking truth, and is not interested in opinion or fabrications, but hardcore facts.

Dr. Ian Stevenson's research papers, as always, are very meticulous and scientific. Because of this reason, the reading tends to be a little dry, since I already believe in reincarnation, and not searching for the truth and trying to convince myself of the possibility.It is crammed with a lot of information with different people, but did not include any picture at all, which is regretful. However, he did include a lot of footnotes, and if you are interested in further reading of different topics, they help as a good bibliography.If you are interested in reincarnation at all, this book serves as a standard measure for all other books on this subject. I highly recommend this book!
