Great redesign, except for the insoles
I'm a meter reader. I live on my feet. The good news is that Keen finally redesigned the soles of their shoes to make them more durable. The bad news is that they put thinner insoles in with basically no arch support. I was miserable from foot and knee pain, and getting blisters on my heels. Switching the insoles out to some cheap garbage insoles fixed the issue. Now my heels can properly lock in, so no blisters. The increased arch support stopped the foot pain and the increased shock absorption of the cheap third party insole stopped my knee pain. I don't know what they were thinking with these new insoles, but so much for "million mile comfort".

DONT BUY
Do not buy, already separating at the toe. I'm done with keens, one month old.

Comfortable and durable boot for mechanics.
This is my 4th set of Keen Detroit Mid Steel toes. This has to be the most comfortable work boots I have ever had. I've used big name boots but always left my feet in pain by the end of the day. My boots get exposed to solvents, grease and oil as I'm a diesel mechanic. I love how they have big sizes as I'm a size 15 wide.

Bought 4 pairs I like them so much!
Last year I purchased a pair of these after a long search for a new construction work shoe and liked them so much bought another pair the day after receiving for off work use. I was a Redwing man for years but was in the mood for a change. I noted Keens sometimes had issues with size so it took me a minute to figure out I needed a wide (EE) in this shoe but once I dialed in the size I will not wear anything else. They are lightweight, warm (but not hot in summer), steel toe is great to make your feet feel safe on a construction site as opposed to a soft toe shoe and waterproof as hell! I have trudged through mud, hosed them off over and over with no failure. This year I have purchased another 2 pair not due to failure, just like always having fresh shoes in the fall on the job. I have oiled the other 2 pair and they are riding around with me until I see the right person in need as they still have plenty of life left in them.Either way, love them and have had many compliments on them.

5 solid years out of the last pair.
These are replacing my 5 year old Detroit steel toes that I've worn 7-8 months out of the year, 5-7 days a week in an auto shop. For me, the boots have been ideal. Wider toe box than most standard width boots, very durable (obviously), steel toe which I have tested thoroughly, and the soles never got dangerously slick; even in oil and coolant I didn't feel like I was going to fall on my face. Here's to hoping the new pair lasts just as long.

expensive boots that dont last
I work at an auto body shop and the shoes didn't last longer then 5 months. the area were the shoelace strings in has seperated and no longer takes the shoe lace and attempting to sow them hasn't worked. for boots that cost 159$ they did not last as long as by georgia boots which i have purchased in 2015 and to this day still work

Big disappointment
Not impressed. I've purchased several pairs of keens throughout the years. After 4 months of use the colored rubber started falling off the bottoms and the loops that hold the laces started breaking.Very disappointed. Purchased in my size and there loose on my feet. Other than that there great.Love the steel toe.

Comofortable, true to size, Keen quality.
I have owned four pairs of Keen boots. Obviously I am a fan. So when I needed a good comfortable pair of steel toes, I thought giving Keen a try was a good idea. It was.Fit: I wear a ten. Despite a few gripes about these not being true to size, I ordered a ten. We all know returns on Amazon are usually about as much fun as a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. They are a perfect fit! Plenty of room in the toe box as is the standard with Keen. Maybe just a bit sloshy in the heel, but I have a narrow heel and that is always the case for me in boots.Comfort: The boot is secure on my foot and there are no pressure points or uncomfortable seems or protrusions. They feel very good right out of the box. They seem a bit heavy when picked up (steel will do that) but they feel light on my feet. The sole tread is just about right. Good traction, but no big nobs catch on steel gratings during work.Lacing: Quick and easy and the tongue folds nicely in when laced. Good quality laces too!Support: I tend to stay away from low cut shoes, because I like the secure feeling of support a mid-rise gives. These are just right for me.Temperature control: The boots seem to breathe well. The lining stays dry and looks to be of good quality and well stitched and built. I do not need much warmth in a boot, but they seem like they would have some insulation in a cold working environment. I would not expect they would keep my toes warm long in freezing conditions.Appearance: Don't care much as long as they work, but they are nice looking boots. Not flashy, but they look high quality and understated save for the reflective stitching on the lace loops and the back straps. Conclusion: Probably the best work boots I have owned so far. I have worn them for a week and have not been annoyed by anything about these boots (can't say that about most work boots/shoes I have owned). I used to wear Wolverine steel toes, but as long as Keen keeps making stuff this good, I am sticking with Keen.
