Attractice and durable alternative to disposables
I recently purchased the 3-piece Kupilka set with the small platter (#14), and then the large platter (#44) by itself. Because I had a hard time picturing how big these were, I've added a photo showing both, with an egg and a ruler for scale.First the good things:*The Kuplilka line of products is attractive and looks like burled wood. Available in four nice colors.*The pieces I have are lightweight and seem really durable.* I keep the small platter and the #21 cup in my backpack or field bag when I'm hiking, and I expect to get a lot of use out of them. I totally recommend them for this purpose! Probably would be good for the ultralight backpacker crowd, too.If you're thinking of purchasing, some caveats to be aware of: The two platters are oblong, not round, and the sizes are kind of odd - the small platter is hardly bigger than a saucer, and the large one is more like a regular dinner plate. (I'd prefer something in between, more like the size of a salad plate.) This larger #44 platter is really nice-looking and I will use it for picnics, as an alternative to paper plates. It is not very lightweight, though, and would add unnecessary bulk in a backpack and weight on a distance-hiking trip. Also, although the claim is that these products are "environmentally friendly" is questionable, since they are wood and...plastic. But using them seems so much better than using melamine or molded plastic or whatever, and they stand up to water better than an all-wood plate or cup.

Kupilka rocks!
This is my everyday plate since I bought it and I love it! It’s lightweight, easy to hold with one hand, and big enough for all my food. The lip around the edge is large enough to contain liquids so I don’t spill and because it’s a wood/plastic composite, it’s quiet and doesn’t make noise when you scrape it with silverware or bang it on the counter. It looks cool too! The only drawback for me is not being able to use it in the microwave, but that’s a small price to pay for the other benefits. As I write this I’m drinking coffee out of my Kupilka cup (I have both large and small), I also have the silverware, spork, and little plate, all of which I use daily, or almost. So I have almost every piece they make and I love them all.

It’s a cool item.
Mine came broken but I’m still using it anyway. Retuning stuff is a hassle and it was kind of an even break. I trimmed the edge with a knife.

Not good as a platter
I use it to showcase my steaks for photography and when I cut my steaks on it, it leaves deep cuts into it. I’ve only used it a few times and there’s a ton of cuts in it. If I knew that I wouldn’t of bought it

one great platter
I purchase 2 of these for camping. Great light weight material and quite roomy. I was able to put a half a rack of ribs on this platter

Great for car camping
Like: biodegradable, strong, handles to hold when the food is piping hot, can use as a plate or as a bowl for thicker chili like substancesDislike: too heavy to justify for a backpacking trip.

Insbesondere, weil es offenporiger wirkt, was man beim Trinken spürt.Gewicht, Robustheit und Nützlichkeit sind sehr zufriedenstellend.
