Has info on how to substitute for things unavailable outside the commonwealth.Plus, it is written in a witty and entertaining style.And he directs you to a website for more information including additional options for ingredient sourcing.Note on muffin/crumpet rings. You can pay $2.50 a piece for them, or you can use tuna fish cans with bottom and top cut off, especially if you use the newer style can opener that rolls the edge...

Liked that it gave directions for regular cooking and for use of Instant pot. Wish it gave better directions for a 3 qt pot, especially times. I can reduce the amount of ingredients, but not sure if times should be reduced. But overall a very good book for me (but not a very good cook).

This book was a very pleasant surprise. I thought it was going to be just another recipe book, but it's also more like a "How-to-cook" book. The author made me feel like he was personally engaging me in his home kitchen and telling me all of his cooking secrets.

Not bad but very much for the US market. Measuring in cups? I have not seen that in the UK. Still, it can prompt the memory & give a few hours pleasure trying out some recipes. Of course, Pies are my big thing. Real pies with pastry top & bottom. Those it covers, along with other things. Best to nuy the ten volumes than geting them piecemeal I think.
