Antique Style Shopkeepers Bell

It's really heavy and made very nice.

We needed a Shopkeeper's Bell to attach to the door so that when people walk in, it chimes. This bell is very nice quality and it has the knot at the bottom so that people can ring it. Unfortunately, it's not mounted on a flexible arc so that when the door opens, it doesn't ring. We've ordered a different one that has a flexible metal band on top so that when the door opens, it will ring.

This bell is perfect for what I need it for. Hangs on the wall (comes with parts needed) and is loud!

I read the reviews before ordering this. I was a bit concerned with some saying it was so soft that it was hard to hear. They were right. My elderly father wanted it for his front door so he would know if someone walked in. He cannot lock his entrance due to stairs. Although the bell looks nice, my dad cannot hear it at all. We will have to buy something else that fulfills our needs.

The bell itself is sturdy and looks better than it did on line, especially for the price. The only thing I didn't like is the rope around the ringer. I replaced it with nylon rope and it actually rings better.

Unless you have doors opening at 100mph, then this door bell won't work. The bell itself looks great, but as I said, it's not functional for regular door opening. Makes no sound when door opens, and makes very quiet ding when a door closes...so in the end you will not hear if anyone goes in but might hear if a shoplifter leaves your store.

Using the bell for our dog to ring when he needs out to potty. The thick rope makes it easy to grab. Sometimes takes a few tries to make a loud enough ring. Really like the style and works well for it's purpose.

Used this for the main door of my old business. I hated being busy with my back to the door and not know if somebody walked in and was waiting on me. This simple little thing helped so much.
