BOSSMD-2 Mega Distortion Pedal

Most fun and brutal sounding distortion from boss, I have a lot of the other heavy distortions from their lineup, and I can say this one has a nice bass boost and gain boost function to it, I also have it currently on my Bass board, and can handle the low notes nicely.

Greetings!I am only writing a brief review due to the fact that most reviewer's only say what they think they should say about a product. So here goes. This pedal does indeed live up to its name, with some tweaking you can get some really good sounds from it. It can get a little flabby with too much bass input/output, but this does depend on what you call too much? I believe it to be a very good pedal and if heavy distortion is your thing, get it and it is relatively cheap in comparison to other similar pedal like it. It can be fizzy, but with a little tweaking it rocks.Cheers!

Finally! The sound I've been looking for. I've been trying top recapture that 80's Peavey distortion sound. I tried an MXR super BadAss, a HT Dist-X tube distortion pedal and a Pigtronix Disnortion. All of them were OK but not quite right (well the Disnortion had a terrible squeal in two of their pedals so I think something is wrong with the design).I just got this pedal and in five minutes I knew this was what I was looking for! The distortion can go super high and it does NOT destroy the tone. It sounds like real overdriven distortion is supposed to sound. It's not going to replace a Marshall stack with warm tube fuzz but for this price you can't get any better pedal.The dual tone controls for the distortion adds a huge amount of tone-shaping and it's not just an EQ bandpass. The low-end actually adds heavy distortion, not just filtering high end out.Great pedal.

I bought this pedal to beef up my distortion with my Orange Super Crush 100 solid state amp, but it just blows a high background noise. This pedal is not trash, I’m just basing it on the tone of my solid state amp.

tl;dr - MD-2 much better than SD-1, not as good as some of the premiere and prestige distortion pedals.Pros: lots of tone adjustment, so you can and should spend time dialing in a good sound. Works well with Stratocasters and Telecasters, boosting their sound and getting more sustain. Works very well as a lead boost pedal, but I haven't tried stacking it with an overdrive to see how well that works.Cons: Just okay as far as playing rhythm goes; does the job, but other distortion boxes (i.e. Rat, Sovereign, VH-4, et al) do a better job if you want tight, strong rhythm crunch. You could do better if you want high gain distortion (I recommend a Diesel VH-4 pedal personally, YMMV).

great metal pedal, awesome sustain, harmonics and agressive tone. a bit hard to fing the perfect spot in the tone knobs couse of the really high low end but when you find that sweet perfect spot you just cant stop rocking out with this thing

The MD-2 does not mess around; it is not a pedal for the weak at heart. The MD-2 delivers a gigantic, massive, bone-crunching distortion with incredible power. Would highly recommend this pedal for anyone looking for a high-waisted dirt pedal on a budget!

Ahora entiendo por que estaba en oferta, me mandaron el pedal con detalles, desde el principio se escuchaba demasiado bajo, sonidos apagados y generaba demasiada estatica, nada que ver con los MD-2 antiguos, ya ahorita de plano casi no se escucha y genera demasiada estatica, mala suerte que no lo devolvi a tiempo, pero para mi fue una gran estafa

I thought this one was going to be a crapshoot based on a lot of these models not working properly but This works fine For the guitar player in the house. Lots of noise now!

This pedal is actually really good. Much better than a DS-2 and much more versatile than you'd think.
