4 bike rack
I switched to this product after 5 years of using 4 bike hanging rack from Yakima, which is amazing product by itself as long as it is used for max 3 bikes. As our family started to bike more, I had to carry 4 bikes and Yakima just was not able to carry 4 bikes no matter how much I tried. 3 was the max and that was painful (literally) too. I spent min 10 minutes of stressful loading the bikes and never had really good safe feeling about longer trips. My Advice - If you want to carry 4 bikes - do not look at the hanging racks. They always handle n-1 bikes max.Platform racks are the way to go.The first thing, which I have to say - Kuat is heavy. Not because of the weight, 65 pounds is not that much, but the shape makes it feel heavy and you have to use some strength to load it onto car.Once it is hitched, the problem stops and you will start to understand why you paid 1000 bucks for something. The loading of the bikes takes no time, the system feels sturdy and safe.I have no movement from the rack during driving at all - the key seems to be, while securing the hitch, you have to lift it up while turning the knob. The black looks really great on my 4Runner and the combination with the opening rear window on the 4Runner is making this product even more easy to use - I never needed to tilt it so far.Be aware, that you need 20''-24'' wheel adapter for the bikes of that size. Kuat sends them for free on request. Would expect it to be mentioned when you actually buy the product but no problem.

Needs a not for RV warning
Bought this bike rake thinking it was going to be top of the line when moving into an RV and traveling the country. Nothing could be further from the truth. We should have got the hint on the first outing with this rack when one bike fell off the rack and the other lost its front tire. After replace a bike and repairing the other to the cost of $2500 we set of again. After about 1500 miles while on the Astoria Bridge our bike rack decided it had enough and the main pin holding the rack horizontal sheered and we nearly lost all of our bikes. Fortunately the bridge was under construction and a flagging crew spotted the horror and stopped us. They were able to direct traffic while I had to hang over the side of the bridge to get to the rack and bikes unlocked. We were able to save our bikes by throwing them in side the RV, however not having any more room in our truck or RV we had to ditch the Rack. I did keep the pin that sheered as evidence.

Built solid!
We needed a sturdy rack for our commuter and mountain bikes and went with the Kuat NV 2.0. I noticed the bike shop we use had this same rack on their team van. This thing is as solid as they come. My only complaint would be it came with two of the built-in bike locks keyed for one key and the second two locks keyed for a different key. For nearly $1,500 (we bought the ramp and wall mount too) you’d think the locks would have all been keyed the same. We bought a new set of lock cores from Kuat to make all four locks use the same key (first world problem I know).

Sturdy, heavy
Pros:- Sturdy- Security features- Can hold 4 bikesCons:- Very heavy. Annoying to install & uninstall every time I use it. I don't like to keep it on the car permanently since it interferes with access to the rear door. I hurt my back installing it once.- Interferes with rear proximity sensor; have to disable proximity sensors to avoid constant beep.Be aware:- Keep the repair stand pointing up. One time I didn't tighten the connector, so it pointed downward, and it got damaged while driving through a dip in the driveway.

Awesome bike rack! putting it together - not so much.
First, let me say that I highly recommend this bike rack. I bought the 4 bike package (NV 2.0 plus the extension) and they ship in separate boxes. The only room for improvement is the manuals and how Kuat organizes the build process. It’s cumbersome, heavy, and there is no way to attach the rack arms to the central frame on a level plane (like your floor, or work table, etc.). It took me a solid hour with help holding the legs and the frame. In the end, I used the shipping box on its side and had it supporting the main frame while my kids held the legs flush. Comical. Also, use your own Allen wrench for the assembly is very long and is useful at the very end when doing final tightening.Overall, this bike rack ROCKS! AND it has a “bike medic” which serves an adjustable bike stand for working on your bikes.

Great rack
First time buying this type of rack. It came in two boxes and was pretty easy to put together. In the four bike configuration, it is pretty heavy, and puts it out of my wife’s league to install on the hitch. But all the features and ease of use make up for that one nit.

Works better than any other rack, but has some limitations
I have the 4 bike carrier.High quality rack with a superior weather resistant finish.Very easy and quick to attach bikes. The integrated cable lock is a very valuable feature.Assembly requires 2 hours and 2 people.Awkward to take on and off the vehicle due to size and weightEven though handles 4 bikes better than other types of racks, there is still some handlebar interference issuesUnable to access back of vehicle despite the tilt featureUnable to access the lever when you have 4 bikes attached.Significant hitch sway with 4 bikes attachedOverall, the best option for carrying 4 bikes outside the vehicle, but fork mounted carriers are more secure.
