Helpful and easy to carry.
Not as good as a bird book, but acceptable and easier to carry on you.

A Reasonable Collection
I have used two of these laminated, folder-style bird resources-- this one, and one for the Yucatan. I'd prefer a regional bird field guide, but there doesn't seem to be a great one available (in English). This focuses on the most common birds you would expect to see. I used this one in San Miguel de Allende, and it was okay. (The local Audubon society put together a really nice booklet for that region that is better, but it's only available from them.) The illustrations are good enough and there is often an additional hint regarding a particularly important marker--color of legs, wingbars, etc. I like that it is laminated and so doesn't get wrinkled or wet.

The guide is very compact and will fit easily in luggage
This will be very handy and utilitarian. The guide is very compact and will fit easily in luggage. All the illustrations facilitate easy identification of the avian varieties. The guide is printed on heavy cardstock and should be very durable. This should and does meet all my expectations.

Lightweight and useful
This is perfect for on-the-fly field identification when you don't want to carry a heavy book. All the illustrations are in color, approximately to scale, and grouped by type. It's very lightweight, and it is sturdily laminated. You could write on it with a grease pencil, then later remove the marks, if you wanted to use it as a checklist. It only shows males in breeding plumage, so females may be difficult to identify with this pamphlet.

Perfect pocket guide for bird lovers
I collect birding pocket guides everywhere I go. This one is great when I go on my Cruise to Mexico next year. When I see birds and take photos I can refer to this guide and know exactly what birds I see!

You Can't Tell a Book by its Cover
When you look at the front of the "book" in real life, you realize that it was designed to deceive you into believing it is a book. It is not. It is a folded poster with pictures of birds, the name in English and Latin with the "to size" in inches and metric. No other information that a "Naturalist Guide" should have... range, nesting, sounds and so on.. It is plasticized, so you can't write on it with a pencil or pen with sightings and so on. It is a tool, a useless tool...

Crap
I was looking for a book that explained the location and habits of the birds, but instead this thing just have 6 pages of ilustrations, and the worst is that doesn't say where you can find those birds.Spend your money on something else.

Mexico birds, nature guide
I have several of these nature guides. I use them for travel, they are laminated nicely and are very handy for exploring when you don't want to carry around a book. They have a lot of information in a small format. Highly recommend!

Pensé que era un libro
Me decepcionó ya que pensé que era un libro. Es solo un folleto. OK Un bonito folleto colorido y útil para identificar aves, pero no hay información sobre cada uno, solo nombres y una imagen. Así que es muy caro para esto.

A lightweight guide to Mexican Birds.
This pocket guide is a double sided 560mm x 21mm sheet of water resistant paper folded concertina style to 100mm x 21mm. It shows about 170 of the common birds of Mexico in breeding plumage with common and Latin names plus size. The birds are split into six sections; `waterside and nearshore', `doves woodpeckers etc.', `parrots and hummingbirds etc.', `raptors', `owls' and `perching birds'. If you are travelling light this is an ideal reference guide but you will need access to other material to sort out the females and less common birds.

Para empezar a pajarear
Buen material para promover la observación ciudadana de aves. Por supuesto trae pocas especies de la Ciudad de México, pero son las más representativas del país

Pamphlet, not a guide book.
I was expecting a guide book but received a lamanated pamphlet. The pictures are quite good but there is no information provided on any birds you may see. Handy to have in your pocket if visiting Mexico but not much good if you are a serious birder.
