Q: Can this be used in recipes instead of flour?

Oat fiber is essentially a non-digestible replacement for the starch part of flour. But it doesn't replace the gluten part. If you want to replace the flour in most recipes, you'll need to replace the gluten too, not just the starch. I've seen bread recipes made with oat fiber and wheat gluten powder, or oat fiber and melted cheese, but never a successful bread made with just oat fiber.

The bag doesn't say but the manufacturers website says this: "NuGrains Oat Fiber is naturally produced from food-grade oat hulls through a proprietary process. This is a chemical-free process, turning organic hulls into various organic fibers. Oat fiber has many uses in baked goods, adding to smoothies, porridge, and other recipes where you want to boost the fiber content of the foods your eat. NuGrains Oat Fiber is Non-GMO Project Verified!"
