This field guide is trash
It's honestly shockingly bad. I saw the other reviews after I already purchased it. I convinced myself the other reviewers were just picky nerds (no offense) and it couldn't be that bad. It looks like a child put it together for a school project. The maps are hard to read, pictures are awful, and its really just a bunch of nonsense. How are you going to call it a 'pictorial guide' and every single picture is terribly pixalated?! The one good thing to come of it is now I am inspired to become a primatologist and make my own. Don't buy this.

A misleading title, weak content and overpriced book
When I purchased this book, written by one of the most famous primatologistis that worked in the Amazonia, I expected to find a comprehensive and updated visual guide to all the species of Neotropical primates, and also, judging from the title, to see something about phylogeography. As it turns out, the book does not show any phylogeogrphic analysis, only subjective pictograms of "phylogeographic" pathways. The book delivers part of its objective in showing a drawing and some photos of all known species of New World monkeys. But that is all it has. All informative text in the whole 70 pages book is restricted to the figures subtitles. The drawings are already present in the much more informative Handbook of the Mammals of the World Volume 3: Primates. The resolution of most pictures is terrible, you can count the pixels in the bearded saki picture of page 48. And the photos do not have auto-explicative legends, so you cannot know which species are represented.Another problematic issue is that the author does not acknowledge the author of the pictures (the authors of most of the drawings are properly acknowledged though). The drawing in page 18, for example, belong to Ernst Lohse, who is not acknowledged. The author of the photo of Saguinus fuscicollis cruzlimai in page 16 is not even mentioned.Although it was a nice idea to make a book that puts together all known species of New World monkeys, I believe this guide is not very informative, does not have good quality pictures and is way overpriced (I paid about 33 dolars).

Terrible quality and limited information
Terrible quality and limited information. Not clear or particularly useful. This and over priced. I would buy it, but calie it at £8.99 max.

Very disappointing
The resolution and quality of the pictures are really poor, and the maps look like they've been edited in MS Paint.
