Timothy GodboldMilitary Style Invades Fashion

For such an inherently politically charged topic, there's no discussion of politics whatsoever
This book is 95% pictures and 5% text. I feel like I could have gotten a similar experience by doing a google image search of military fashion or spending an hour on Pinterest. It's obvious that the author is well informed on the history of these military-inspired fashion trends, but we're given only a passing glimpse of what it may entail. For example: the Nazi's use of leather was a deliberate appropriation of the fashion that the cool kids at the Berlin nightclubs were wearing, because they wanted to appear hip and trendy too. Considering that Berlin had a vibrant queer nightlife prior to WW2 makes this all the more ironic, and is a rich vein for exploration, but the train of thought stop there. I had hoped for cited sources so I could do further research, but the only sources cited are for the images.Perhaps I had incorrect expectations of what this book would be, but I am nonetheless disappointed.
