the pond is well made of strong material. The deep end is fine for locating the pump and filter. When digging the hole, plan on using lots of sand as a protective layer between the ground and the pond. Our last pond developed a weak spot that became a leak because we had not earlier discovered and removed a fairly sharp stone. This time we used several bags of sand to form a relatively soft base / intermediate layer between the ground and the pond. Once the pond fills with water, its weight will compress the sand so allow for that during installation.

This pond basin is sturdy & well constructed. The well is much smaller than I anticipated. Definitely.too small for an average size fountain & it doesn't seem that it would accommodate fish very well unless they were very tiny. However, with the correct sized fountain, sprayer or ornaments the pond is very attractive. The bottom of the waterfall section of the pond has to be built up with topsoil so that the pond will be level. other than that, installation is very easy.

Nice liner.... and an installation tip
Nice product.... perfect size and style for my yard.Note to others looking to do a pond using a liner.... I found that once I had the hole dug and prepped with a layer of sand, it was best to fill the pond with water and then backfill around the edges of the pond with sand to secure everything. If you don't add water, the sand lifts the liner and you get to start all over.... I figured that out after having to pull the liner and all of the sand back out of the hole and starting over.... several times ;)

Put the labels on the OUTSIDE!
so - I started the hole for this yesterday, went pretty quick, Hubby dug the hole deeper this morning, heavy work but went pretty quick.Next job, leveling the hole and packing back in the soil? - NO - I JUST WASTED AN HOUR TRYING TO GET THE LABELS OUT OF THE BOTTOM OF THE POND, and there are still glue bits holding on for dear life!! - what did they stick it in with? super glue??? This would have been a five star rating had it not been for the labels.

Why oh why did the put the stickers inside the tub? Other than that, great product.
