My son is 7 years old. He started showing signs of having bad anxiety when he began preschool. Since birth he has never slept through the night or in his own bed. I kept asking myself when will it stop? He was constantly exhausted, grumpy, and would get sick easy which I suspect is from the last of sleep. He also had dark bags under his eyes. One of my girlfriends recommended this blanket to me. I thought, why not, I'm already losing sleep. It arrived within 1 day with free amazon prime shipping and they were offering a discount. Had my son lay in his bed and put it on him. He slept through the night you guys!! And even better it has been one week already and he has yet to wake up and come into our bed. I just want to cry because I'm so happy! Hes so much more happier and has tons of energy. He doesnt feel scared anymore at night. This is the best thing that has ever been created. Out of the excitement I forgot to mention I got the 10 pound blanket in the small size, I think 4'x5'. It was a little smaller than I expected but it still does the trick. The blanket should be 20% of your child body weight and my son is around 50 pounds so it was exactly what we needed without him being weighed down too much. There are small beads sewn into small squares in the blanket which is how it gets its weight. I havent tried to wash it yet in the machine so I cant comment on that but it does seem very sturdy. I highly recommend this blanket for any child having issues in the evening and definitely will give it as a gift also. Enjoy your sleep fellow parents as that's exactly what everyone will get!

I have CFS and a host of other physical issues. I do NOT have fibromyalgia but I have a few aches and pains. At night I sleep better with the weight of a heavy quilt but I get very warm and need to have a portable air conditioner running at the same time. I purchased this because it made sense that a weighted blanket would help me feel the weight of something more than a heavy quilt and may help me sleep better. I was thinking "If a little is good, more might be better." The blanket I chose is a "kids" blanket but because I only weigh about 90-95 pounds and it was the suggested blanket for my weight, I didn't hesitate. I must say it is a perfect size for me. I am about 5 ft. 2 inches. And it looks beautiful on my bed. And, yes, it is definitely weighted! I'm not able to sleep well when I use it but I think that's just because it isn't good for MY body. If I had fibromyalgia that may be a different story and I can see how some people absolutely love it!! So, long story short, in my honest opinion.... it's worth giving it a try.

I'm am finding this size and weight is working for me after two other tries on other brands, weight and size. The 10% of your body weight is just a suggestion. So keep trying if it feels too heavy or light. Says it's cool, however; it feels thicker than the other two brands I bought. So, guess I will have to wait till summer to find out (Midwesterner here). The beads ball up in the box corners quite a bit, but I haven't found it a problem and it still conforms to my body. But if the blanket were larger, it might be an issue when rolling over on it as you would probably feel like rolling onto ping pong balls. If you don't roll around much, shouldn't be an issue.

I bought this for my 11-year-old daughter. She's a slender girl (about 80 pounds) so I had to be sure to get the right weight. The first night she used it she slept so much better and when she's tired and getting on my nerves I tell her to go get under her blanket. If it's too hot I tell her to put it on her legs. She loves it and was surprised it worked. It's not for draping and walking around though. She likes it so much she tried wrapping it around herself and going into the family room, but she struggled with it, which I found funny. So it stays on her bed and she's content.

My daughter deals with anxiety. In hopes to provide her with a better nights sleep, we purchased this weighted blanket to fit on her twin size bed. She loves it. She said it's made a difference. It is dry clean only which may be an issue for some for cleaning. I would love to have an additional cover for it but for now, we place it between blankets. We haven't tested it for the summer yet to see if it's too hot but it has made positive changes with my daughter up to this point.

My dog freaks at fireworks and thunderstorms. When he’s under the weighted blanket he is calm and seems to fall asleep. I think I could have used a 5# blanket and gotten the same results.

I have only had this a couple of days, but I like it a LOT; will be buying a bigger size when winter comes. It is well made, no odor, & folds up neatly. I wanted to try the whole weighted blanket thing and didn't want to spend a lot initially. The child size is perfect for napping for a medium size adult, ( five foot six, 130 lbs) Have already suggested it to a couple of friends who have trouble sleeping, depression, etc. Works better than anti-depressants, for me!
