The Magic of Love
First, I should state that I know the man, the Buddhist monk, who wrote this book. So you could say that I'm biased. This is not a conventional book on keeping the love fires burning. This is a book solidly based on Buddhist teachings about how Reality works. But don't worry - this is NOT a dry, academic, scholarly exposition of aspects of Buddhism. Geshe Michael Roach keeps it down-to-earth - and fun. He has an excellent sense of humor. Even more, as you read this book, you might feel like a good friend is talking to you. This book will also not turn you into a Buddhist. That's not the point. Love has no religion. The point of this book is to increase the love in this world. Yes, you can work with Karma without losing your religion - or taking on a new one. Karma is not a religious idea. But it does seem a little "magical" to us Western people. Geshe Michael Roach understands this - he was born and raised in America, not India or Tibet. So if you want to keep the love alive in your life, and are curious about that Karma thing...I recommend this book.

Pretty cool book
I knew of this book when scrolling through TikTok. A lady was reading the book for her followers. I found it interesting and bought it. I love it! You must be open to view things differently, it will change your life!

A relationship game changer!
This book completely changed the way I approach all of my relationships- whether it be with my boyfriend, my mom, or my boss. It is a quick and easy read, using classical Buddhist techniques for solving the day to day problems that we encounter with other people that we interact with. A super cool feature is that it can be used like a relationship manual- it takes the most common 100 problems that people face with their partners and gives solutions for how to fix them. I use this book constantly as I navigate through all of my various relationships. The techniques found in this book actually helped me solve several serious relationship problems I was having. Thank you Geshe Michael Roach for writing this book!

My Review of The Karma of Love
OK so I'm not really good at writing reviews but I HAD to share this because this book literally changed my life. Like seriously. So I picked up The Karma of Love when my marriage was basically falling apart. We weren't even really talking anymore except about like who's picking up groceries or whatever. I felt so alone and mad all the time. My husband seemed like he didn't even see me anymore and I was just... done, you know?I saw this book and thought "karma and love?? what does that even mean" but I was desperate so I bought it.OMG you guys. This book didn't tell me how to make my husband do things or how to fight better (which is what I thought it would be about). Instead it was all about how the things I do and think actually create the kind of relationship I have. Like, I was creating my own problems without even knowing it!The author talks about planting seeds - like if you plant anger seeds you get anger back, but if you plant love seeds you get love back. It sounds cheesy but its TRUE.So I started doing what the book said. I would see couples being happy and instead of being jealous I would think "good for them" and really mean it. When my friend was fighting with her boyfriend I helped them work it out instead of just saying "dump him" lol. Every day I tried to do something nice for someone else's relationship even if it was tiny.At first it felt super weird and fake. But I kept doing it because what else did I have to lose right??Then the craziest thing happened. My husband started changing. Not because I asked him to or we had some big fight about it. He just... did. He brought me flowers one day (hasn't done that in like 3 years). Another time I came home and he was doing dishes and actually HUMMING. I almost cried. We're not perfect now or anything. We still have bad days. But we laugh again! He touches my arm when he walks by. We don't yell as much.I know this sounds like some made up testimonial but I swear its real. This book didn't just fix my marriage it fixed ME. I finally get that love isn't something you force someone to give you. You have to grow it yourself first. If your relationship is struggling please read this book. I wish I found it years ago but better late than never right?Sorry if this review is all over the place but I just had to tell people about it!!

fast read
really like the authors work, very fast read in a conversation-style of writing... the answers may seem repetitive, but light humor keeps it fresh and the answer sometimes twists strangely around, so the short sections are real page turnerseasily worth the price and more
