REP FITNESS Black Bumper Plates for Strength and Conditioning Workouts and Weightlifting

Stop googling for bumper plates and buy this set. Lots of reviews in smells and oil coating....yes, they smell like bumper plates, yes they're coated, like every other bumper plate. Get a paper towel and make some gains.

I bought these for my new home gym to replace my rusty 40+ year old iron weights and couldn't be happier. They arrived UPS and were packaged well, just as the dumbbells I purchased from Rep. Some people mention that they have a smell, (very slight if at all) I've got some news.. All rubber smells including the rubber you put on or in your body, so just keep it away from your face and you'll be fine. Over all I have been super happy with the items I've purchased from Rep.

I wanted to wait a while before judgement on these. Here's what I think about them:Good-- these are very well constructed, I would say they are as well built as my RFs and my Valor's. The 15s and the 10s don't taco at all! I've dropped them from chest high (~5ft) with weights between 160 - 225 with no issues. None. No marks, no scuffs, no damage to the core. I've weight the weights on a high quality scale; all of the weights were within 1/10th of a lb.The bad-- like most rubbers, there is a smell that takes a while to fade...not much of a big deal really.I would recommend these to anyone who is looking to improve their home gym or private studio.

I don’t know how these don’t get anything but five stars. I was doing a lot of research for bumper plates and to be honest the main reason I went with these was because they were on amazon and I got free shipping. Damn I’m glad I did because these are incredible. They are so well made and seem to be durable as hell. Every one of them was perfect and I didn’t get the smell other reviewers were talking about. Although they are in my garage. The smell may be bad if they were inside but they are made of rubber so that’s to be expected. I love these plates. I was so excited to do deadlifts when they came. I got them in the mail in three different delivery’s. They came 3 days sooner than expected. Don’t hesitate and stop researching other plates. Just buy these you won’t regret it.

I searched around for a bit and read the reviews. These are worth every dollar! No damages. They were delivered perfect although my mail lady had a fit. But other than that everything was perfect. I let them air out for a day and wiped them down. No problems. Best plates out there for the money. Don't go cheap on plates. Especially if you are going to work out because they are investment in you. You don't want to turn around and buy another set 6 months later. Buy from this company.

Overall, I do like these plates. I've been consistently lifting with them since the end of 2019, so I've gotten a bit of use out of these. I work out in my basement and I didn't want to make a lot of noise while lifting, so I decided to go with bumper plates instead of iron ones. They do take up more real estate on the barbell than iron plates do, but it was a trade-off I was okay with.The only problem I have with these plates are the rings on the inside of the plate. My barbell has little grooves in the sleeves. These grooves seem to rub the material off of the metal ring in the plate. Metal dust gets all over my bar sleeves. It makes me worried that the plates will wear out too quickly in the coming years. I emailed REP about this and they said it wouldn't be an issue, but I'm not so sure about it. I have a few of REP's urethane coated plates as well, and those plates don't have this issue but the inside ring is made out of a different material. Time will tell how long these plates last on my bar, but I am concerned about it.

Bought this to start incorporating some CrossFit workouts at my gym. Plates are top notch and 1/2 the cost of Rouge.Saw some reviews where people complained about not fitting on their bar. They fit on ever bar I’ve tried.Also, some people complain about the plates bending or (taco warping) after dropping them from “x” height...let’s be honest, if you’re body slamming the weights because that’s what you saw (insert CrossFit super star name here) then YOU are the problem Not The Plates!!!Buy these plates...you won’t be disappointed!!!

I absolutely love this set in our newly constructed, complete home gym. The bumper plates look and feel great, and a minor shipping issue was promptly rectified by Rep directly. They were awesome to deal with, and went above and beyond...great experience. The plates did have the expected rubber smell on arrival, but we left them outside to air out for a few days before bringing them inside. Much of the smell was gone at that point, however it did still smell just like a gym for a few more days inside our home gym (20x15 room size). Now a week later, no more rubber smell! We couldn't be more pleased, and would easily recommend the product and the Rep company. We also purchased the matching Olympic weight tree from Rep (through Amazon) and are equally pleased.
