Beauty and the Beast Girl

Love this manga! A sweet, lovely couples, heartwarming story.. The best of the best! Highly recommended for those who looked for a short, adorable love story between two different individuals who meant to be with each other..

I read many different kinds of manga online and have been following this story for a while. I was amazed when Amazon popped it up as a suggestion, I’d never have expected it to get into actual print! And I’m so glad it did, I picked it up immediately.The book is physically larger than the usual Seven Seas titles. I’d say it’s 2cm wider and about 2.5cm taller than regular manga so beware those who like neat looking bookshelves! However the larger size really made for a refreshingly easy read. No tiny squished up text.I think others have covered the story itself. I find it beautiful and simplistic and sometimes that’s just what I want to read.I’ve seen a few reviews mention that the story finished early – There’s so much more online! I’d say this matches up to chapter 18 with the online version (with a few extra pages in the book version) and currently Neji is up to chapter 36 so there’s plenty of material for a second book. Lets hope Seven Seas decide to continue publishing it.

Opted for this as I needed more yuri for my collection! The book is larger than your average manga and its just a short oneshot I believe. The story line was fun, cute and entertaining! The book arrived in perfect condition! The only let down I have is the ending, after such a cute plot line the ending seemed utterly pointless and gave nothing to the story. If anything it confused me a little. But still worth it for the cute girls!

First of all, this series is a one-off volume, which means the story needs to be told in a fast-paced manner. There's no tension or delay here, we meet our duo, they get to know each other briefly and then it's settled that they've fallen for each other. I liked how it happened fast and how their love is solidified, a lot of girl's love series mess around too much by dangling the romance in front of reader's face, so to get a story that cuts to the chase was a breath of fresh air.I enjoyed the characters, the art is pretty enough and we even have time for a short conflict. Sure, a LOT of questions went unanswered but I would still recommend it for fans of girl's love stories.

The book itself is of good quality, the same we've seen with other seven seas releases such as Citrus and My lesbian experience with Loneliness. It's bigger than normal manga size which is hugely appreciated, comes without a flap (which I personally prefer) so you just have the coloured artwork on the smooth front cover. Honestly, I think seven seas releases like this are great, they feel good to read.The content itself is quite barebones and simplistic. We're told most things without really experiencing or feeling them. It justifies the plot and keeps it going at a fast pace, but I felt emotionally left behind.We're also told what every character is thinking at any given point, that's just weak and quite frankly unnecessary if only the author spent a bit more time developing said characters organically.In a way, this is more about the cutesy fanservicy middle bit than it is about the story itself. We just get there as quickly as possible with no conflict, and the ending felt equally rushed.The art itself is enjoyable. It serves its purpose with not much more. We're certainly not in the level of detail of Kaoru Mori, but I also didn't find the unique charm that I love in other stories such as the aforementioned My lesbian experience with loneliness, Pink or Voynich Hotel.The background and environmental art is also lacking. This is quite common in Yuri stories as they focus more on character but this one could have beneficiated a lot from it when introducing the wood cabin, the flower garden where our two protagonists meet or Lily's manor.Despite its interesting premise, this, unfortunately, leads to a forgettable story.

The Plot wasn't amazing but this ticks all the things you'd want in a romance manga in my opinion

Lovely heart felt yuri, the manga is lovely and the art is nice, the open ending is nice ready for more x
