The Little Red Hen and the Passover Matzah

Matzah-Seeds to table via a wise, hard working "Little Red Hen".
Lovely book to read and share with children. Just plain fun for Passover, whether a child is reading it themselves, or having it read to them. The book's "Little Red Hen" takes the reader through the process of planting the wheat seeds, harvesting and milling the wheat, and making the flour into matzah. The story continues covering the process of preparation for the holiday and its observance. Fun farm animals assume characters who are part of "Red Hen's" barnyard home . The illustrations are inviting for young eyes. At the end of the book there is an explanation of the Passover holiday in child understandable terms and also a short "glossary" of terms related to the holiday. The book has just the right elements and length to allow little ones to enjoy hearing being read, and for a reader to enjoy entertaining and educating. Great children's book for the price and a fine addition to a home library.

Good book. Poor condition.
Good book. Had a rip on a page that was poorly fixed with tape. And the binding and cover were bent from packaging.

This is a wonderful story that conveys an even better message.
This is a lovely tale with an important message for everyone! This story can help children start to understand that the world is a big place filled with many different ways to celebrate special events. Increasing awareness, understanding and acceptance through literature are hopeful positive goals.

Our 2. 5 year old LOVES this book. ...
Our 2.5 year old LOVES this book. It's equally enjoyable to the adult reading it with a few Yiddish words thrown in. We're atheists just trying to bring some balance to our little who attends Catholic school.

A New Classic Jewish Children's Book
This is one of the best Jewish children's books EVER! The retelling of the old folk tale with a surprise Passover ending is engaging and endearing to adults and children. If you are going to a seder where young children will be present, bring this book to read--a great Pesach gift for everyone.

super
