Pretty Decent Performance for the Price
I compared this unit to a similar Netgear device. This unit performed just about as well as the Netgear unit in terms of the internet speed tests that I ran on both units. I had this EGOKEE unit about 30 - 40 feet away from the router and the speed was about half of the speed of connecting directly to the router. Being placed farther than 40 feet away from the router, this unit's signal strength decreased significantly to slightly less than 1/5 of the speed of connecting directly to the router. But the far more expensive Netgear wifi extender also strained to keep speeds up at that distance as well. The Netgear unit dropped to slightly more than 1/5 the speed. So within the limits of my ability to test, and the variability of the speed tests, both units seemed about on par with each other The instructions for the EGOKEE were functional enough to get the unit set up, but contained some curious "English as a second language" phrases and descriptions. But all in all, I was able to see past those issues and get it set up. This isn't the strongest wifi extender on the market, but for the very low price, I think it does pretty well to deliver on what it promises to do. As for power consumption, the unit seemed to draw between 1 and 2 watts while plugged in.

Light, small yet works wonder! Full signal in my guess bedroom!
Love the small size and the led status light. Perfect for my close to the floor outlet. Setup was very straightforward. It took 5 min to connect to my home wifi as wifi extender.

It really works!
I needed a WiFi extended to provide a better Wifi signal to my Ring Doorbell. Unfortunately, the location of my router was too far from the Ring and the signal had to travel through too many walls, including the external brick wall. Because of the weak signal, I was having trouble answering rings and getting live views on my phone.I originally looked into purchasing the Ring brand Wifi extended, but it was 50 bucks and it was ONLY for Ring products. I thought it would help to have a Wifi extender to connect to all my other devices, so I scoured Amazon to find a cheaper one.I am technologically literate in many areas, but connectivity and networks are NOT one of those areas. I was concerned that I would have to hire a techy person to come help me, but surprisingly, it was very easy to set up and connect with my current AT&T Uverse router.I did run into a bit of a problem, as my Ring Doorbell was still showing a weak signal. I fiddled around with the Ring and realized that this extended had created a new network for me to connect to - it was my network name with "-EXT" at the end. I reconnected the Ring to THAT network - my password was the same and everything - and NOW my Ring Doorbell works PERFECT!This extender is great and does exactly what I need.I also noticed on the box that there is a phone number to call for 24/7 tech support, which is very handy to have!I highly recommend it if you just need a boost in signal to reach certain devices or reach devices that are too far away from your router.

Great help
This item is a great help at home. Since the home is two-story home, upstairs having the internet with no issue. It is very easy to set up. it is working independently with the router. The light is the optional. if you want the light can be off as well. The range is as strong as the original one. I strongly recommend if you are looking one.

Needed a firmware upgrade
The device was fairly easy to setup (connect to the network, open a browser, go to the gateway IP), BUT it incorrectly set the IP address for anything connected to it (it got most right but it kept assigning itself as the DNS server, which broke the internet). I tried resetting it to defaults and going through setup again; same issue. The supplier needs to recall their Amazon stock and update it before shipping units, I think. It also would not reconnect to my main network after the first setup until the firmware update. This was ordered the week of 3/20/2019, and the product had "UPGRADED" in the title.Side note: I did not try to use it in "AP Mode" as I need an extender, not an AP. Also, the process to update firmware is not easy; you must find their website, manually download the only file listed in their downloads center (which I was just assuming was the firmware, since it isn't labeled or anything), and manually upload it to the device.
