Martin Tapered Latigo Tie Strap

Soft leather but plenty thick. This is nice one piece rawhide leather, very durable but not stiff. It seems to be pre-oiled which is fantastic. I ordered one, saw how great it was and ordered another. I love the length and tapered end. I bought it for my gaited saddle and the center fire rigging. Love!!

The leather is very thin, so thin I suspect I will replace it soon I don't trust it to maintain it's strength especially next do the metal on the cinch buckle where attached it's already showing stretch/stress marks after 2 uses. It's a bit wider than anticipated also but the thinner lower quality of the leather has me concerned about failure. I expected better quality from Martin Saddlery. They make Clinton Anderson's downunderhorsemanship saddles that's why I spent the way extra amount on this latigo thinking it would be the same high quality-NOT! The price tag is high but the quality low, choose something else.

This latigo is longer than the one I had, so the loose end stays in the keeper. Very supple. Nice width.

Could be slightly thicker cut but over all just fine.

I know Martins to be a great brand for saddles so I was excited to buy a latigo strap from this company. I was really disappointed. The leather is thin and very stretchy. It’s also an incredibly long strap. It will work for now but I’ll keep looking for something more substantial and shorter.
