Don't wash your high quality knives in the dishwasher. Ever. The little bit of effort you save by popping a greasy knife into the dishwasher isn't worth the damage to your knives. It's too easy to wipe with a soapy sponge, rinse and then dry -- then put them away and forget about them. Quick tip: if your knives aren't ruined by washing in the dishwasher, they aren't very good knives. Sad fact of knife life.

it's just not a good picture. The blades are silver or actually, stainless steel, a normal knife blade color. These are excellent knives, you'll love them.
