If you suck as a manager, this book is your shield.
Ms. Wakeman provides validation for any manager who suffers from his or her own lack of managerial prowess. Don't want to listen to ideas or comments from experienced, intelligent employees? No problem, be comforted that your way is the reality and any dissent from your workers is simply the inability to deal with that reality. Ms. Wakeman describes these whiners as driving up to the manager's office--in which she says there should definitely be a "closed door" policy--in their "BMW's" (bitch, moan, whine). Furthermore, if your managerial presence is associated with a sudden exodus of your best longtime employees, that's a good thing. Those losers also cannot deal with reality. In Cy-world, it is best to think of your employees as nursery school children in their (the kids') worst moments. In a nutshell, "EGO" in this book is synonymous with drama, and the author has supposedly scientifically measured the average time in employees' workdays wasted on ego/emotion--an astounding 2.5 hours. Cliff notes on book: Manager is right, employee = childlike moron who cannot deal with reality. Underlings can either get on board the managerial train to hell or go elsewhere. If you are a manager with even half a heart, please do not give this book to your employees.
