Weighing in at 4 pounds, the PackLite Kayak is designed to be an extremely compact and lightweight recreational inflatable kayak equipped with several unique features to make it the perfect ultra-light kayak for paddling in the most remote of locations. It has 3 chambers for optimum safety, packs down to 11"x11"x5", and features easy to use Twistlok and military style valves for easy inflation. When out on the water, the mesh carry bag doubles as an on-deck gear bag for securing smaller items. Paddling a remote alpine lake or stream has never been this easy!

Annoying air leak!.
The boat is great, but when it arrived it had a air leak in the compartment where you are supposed to be sat. One of the heat-taped seams was open so I needed to patch it from the beginning, which was very annoying!!.The boat is great for the price and I am Ok with the valves because there is an adapter included. My weight is 75 kg, and it was not necessary to put extra weight in the front to balance the boat.

Floor seam is not viable
First trip, a seam sprang a leak simply by carefully stepping out of the raft. I patched that with the patch kit provided, and it held inspite of being a 'seam' between floor and side tube. The next trip, I took it out for all of 5 minutes and about 1 inch of seam opened up. They have a year manufacture warranty and were helpful in getting it replaced free of charge. I haven't used it yet, but I inflated it at home and it held it's air pressure overnight.

KAYAK PACKLITE LOW QUALITY AND DEFAULT OF MANUFACTURE
Low quality. It has already arrived with small flaws that may in the future generate leaks or even tear.In less than 3 months he began to take off the loops(dring).

Product FAIL
I can't even inflate this kayak! The inflate valve is specialized and can't find find pump adapters after visiting 5 different rafting stores. The recommended pump from the SAME manufacturer DOES NOT come with correct adapter. It might get a better review if I could actually use it. Include ALL required parts if you wanto sell this kayak to any one else. I will return it if I can't find proper adapters in 2 more days.I downgraded my 2 start to a 1 star. I could not find a valve adapter. The kayak was useless to me so I have returned it.

only used a couple of times and the seam blew out. When taking a closer look. I could pull the seam apart as if it was made to come apart. Not safe at all. They said i could return it if i had the original box. but i had already thrown the box away. 300 dollars down the drain...

Nice Boat, But Can be Improved
I bought this kayak last spring and used it for fishing where the water access was remote, but also comes with us always when going to the local beach. There were no issues whatsoever. My 4 yr old son loves it, and he usually travels in the front of the cockpit thus leveling the boat on the water. Now that being said, this is a first iteration of a product, and there are a few things worth mentioning:Pros:Lightweight,PortableDurable/high pressure - unlike the pvc boats. This boat is a polyurethane covered nylon and will accept 2 PSI. Care must be taken to relief the pressure if keeping the boat in the sun.Safe - multiple air chambersCons:The boat does not come with a seat. I have to use an Alpackaraft seat.Valves on the main chambers force you to use a pump. They do not allow inflation/topping up the pressure by mouthThe shape of the boat forces you to add weight in the front if you want to go anywhereImprovements:Valves - I would prefer it if AE downgraded to Boston Valves. I think they should be functional to 2 PSI, and will allow inflation by o mouth/inflation bag (no need to carry a pump)Seat - add a seat AE. The seat in Alpackaraft Yukon Yak works perfectly in your boatShape- Make the boat narrower inside (by 2-3 inches at least- make it fit snugly, like Alpackaraft), and add an inch to the diameter of the lateral tubes. Also, add more flotability in the rear (make the rear longer), and you have a excellent boat. You will have no competition.Add a Velcro or flaps attachment for a small plastic skeg. This is not that important.Ah, and the color - a solid color would be so much nicer. The way it is right now it earns a well deserved 4 stars. I do not regret buying this boat, and I am using it all the time.

The PackLite: The Fantastic Four-Pounder
The ultimate in portable inflatable kayaks is an ingenious design from Advanced Elements. I first tried my PackLite kayak in California on Clear Lake in windy weather. Now, this kayak weighs only four pounds and is made out of a thin material. I wondered how sturdy it would be. So, I paddled it at a good pace right onto a cement ramp full of pine needles and little rocks. I did this several times, trying to abrade the hull and tear the fabric. Incredibly, it held up without a scratch! It is a rugged little unit and yet will support 250 lbs., just like Advanced Elements Firefly kayak, which is also 7' 10" long. The only caution is not to overinflate the PackLite to prevent tearing a seam. Inflate it until its chambers still will take a depression from your finger. Then, it is ready for those otherwise inaccessible wilderness lakes and streams, its mere four pounds making it perfect for your backpack. Kudos to Advanced Elements for coming up with this "impossible" watercraft that tracks reasonably well, holds a lot of weight, and has almost no weight of its own! Treat it well, and it will do the same for the adventurous paddler. I have used mine for several years now, and it is still like new. Top marks!

Easy five star
Easy five star, taking into account its purpose. We got this for hikes into mountains. However, my sons took it out today for the first time in a large lake and wind up to about 5 miles.Sitting slightly towards the middle with the back supported by their life vest, this kayak tracks amazingly well. With gentle and regular stroke, it easily got up to speed without much waggle. I dare venture that the ribs of the inflatable bottom gives better tracking than other pack rafts. How fast can this go with regular paddling? I would guess approaching 3 mph which we consider excellent for a 4 lbs kayak like this.We are more than thrilled by the performance. It should really work well in the mountain lakes. We have larger higher pressure inflatable tandem and triple kayaks and our two sons (college and high school aged) prefers this because of the independence and sufficient speed. They used it for fishing and it worked a charm. It turns on a dime. They loved it and paddling for some miles was not a problem at all. It scoots along pretty well. You can check out airkayaks video on youtube and see that it tracks well.
